alf,, the weather in the lothians has been shocking each morning, east winds, cold, mist etc , but has been brightening up every afternoon ,,,,,allthough it turned out a beautifull evening , you could see the haar comming off the coast , as the sun was setting ,so, unpredictable , to say the least

could be many causes ,, but whatever it is , its steadily got worse in the last 30 years

aldo,, sorry but i would take it to the vet live asap ,he will put this bird down then do a post mortem ,,,,, then get the rest of the teams ,droppings tested, at the same time , the vet will advise after this, what to do.

the choice is yours john , either transfer the pigeon to the fancier or , really you must [by rule] send for the bird ,,,,,,,,,,,but i see where your comming from , it does make you a little annoyed ,,,, but by the same token , and you lost your best bird ,even maybe injured ,im sure you would be glad to get it back ,if reported , so maybe its swings and roundabouts

hi rick ,,,,i think [with the shu anyway] the owner has 3 days to send for the bird ,[or transfer the bird if the finder is agreeable]if he doesnt , report this matter to the union , where the member will get a warning , if not heeded within 7 days , the member will be automaticly suspended , and his club secy,notified,,,,,,such suspension can only be uplifted by the union secy, after the offender produces evidence of having claimed or transferred the bird,,,, the offending member must pay a fee to the union of £10 ,which must be paid in full before he is reinstated ,,,,,,,,,,i should imagine the welsh union would have a similar ruling

if its any cosolation bart i had this some time ago, [a yb retuning as a yearling b4 the first o,b race [about a week] most fanciers told me to get rid of it , it took to a spare box, was sent to the first race, came ok , was my first bird from worcester roughly 250 miles , i stopped him after this ,, he turned out one of the best birds i had , winning 6 races and quite few positions , i lost him in that hard rennes national race where there was only 21 birds timed in , in race time , so it proves that pigeons are strange things
