you would , at the very least , have signed for them, its what youve signed for. which is in debate [thats if they asked you to sign]
  5. yes charlie has raced hens on many occasions and won well with them

citizens advice should sort it all out [but have a strict privacy code of conduct]
  7. just out of curiosity,, i wonder if members would be willing to say [ 1] how many young birds you bred in 2006? [2] how many two year olds left now racing?

i worked for cit, advice...........would say take all documents of amtracks conditions, and explain situation , im sure they will help
  11. hi billy ,, nice looking birds ill put them on the photo postings where you can put as many as you like on , and add to it from time to time ,,,,,,,,,good luck with the pressing the buttons :) :)im sure youll get the hang of it,, look forward to see more pics:)
  12. welcome to the forum jo jo [i think theres another member from the philipines ] it would be nice to hear your veiws about pigeons in the philipines kindest regards and hope you enjoy the forum
  13. maybe youll get another look see if theres a letter between the 07 [which is the year born] and the number ...., the su indicates a" scottish union bird ",, then the letter is the area ,i,e, f ,,,fife,,,,,p, pentland , ml ,,midlothian...nw...north west etc etc etc off course some rings are bought straight from the union , these are the less common ones without a letter on them, so maybe just get a peep and see the other ring will be a rubber ring , which is the ring that goes in the pigeon clock when home from a race , so obviously this bird has been in a race . but being in fife [and a scottish bird ] theres every chance the bird could home to its loft when fit but through the scottish homing union , every scottish bird can be traced to the owner by its full ring number i think youve did well to care for it, im sure the owner will be very gratefull,,,,,kindest regards
  14. this is the best way, in my opinion too,,,,,,,grit,,, mineral..pots . soon get soiled and become a haven for worm oocysts [eggs] and cocci,, ,,,,cheap enough to keep fresh , a teaspoonfull would do a pair a couple of days ,,,,,but when feding young, they will eat [and need a lot more ] best of luck
  15. i would tend to leave well alone , just reguler baths and preening, itll soon wear off ,, this is the safest way for the birds feathering
  16. once theve settled , ie mated and sitting and had a chance to see outside ,maybe with a makeshift aviary , that you can take down when their homing ,, theres a chance theyll stay, but they never forget their old loft ?? a lot easier with 3 to 4 week babies
  17. released tuesday [due to weather] bird shot away ,,,hope the owner has him back
  18. oh looking good now philips,,,,,,,,,,,,,i see the pic of the trophie missing,, will try and get it back up later
  19. i have a result, cut out the rp, of an international , this was snfc where you could duplicate them into the international , this was run by usher vaux , i think this would be about 1959,,,,,,,,,it was the year beglin bros bo ness won the scottish national with high noon [a grooter ] cant get smilies ,,,,,,,,,,,,,my dad and i hadnt joined the national but could send to this,, if my memory serves me right , we were about 90th international with" the wegge" surp 57 ed 367 true, " smile",,,,,,,,,,boy, what a memory ha ha
  20. i think youve did the sensible thing , a lot of fanciers wouldnt have" waisted" the petrol, but lost birds , i wouldnt have shown the hens , just put a pinch of red band in each box
  21. just enjoy yourself ben, at your age youll be able to both ,pigeons and party,, a big tip as mentioned b4,, dont drink , and dont drug,,,,,,,,,that way youll still win races and get on with the other birds too
  22. i would assume the nrcc is not a national ,,as its letters suggest , its a championship club, a national , should be the nation .ie scot eng, n ireland wales ,,,,,but with such big distance differance between longest and shortest fliers , defining the best bird is not neccesary the winner
  23. shall release bird [put a note on its leg] first thing in morning in if weathers ok ,, the bird is in good condition , and should manage home ok
  24. scottish saying theorie ,, never cast a cloot till mys oot interpretated never discard any clothing till after the month of may , this could be a good theorie for distance races in june or july , never have them cast there first flight till after the month of may
  25. very good thinking hjaitland i dont think this is normal practise to the fancy, but would agree with you, it does make sence i think we put too much into" remembering" how they handled etc when theve won, and guessing the weight [by mind]..........a very interesting post
