yes i think this is true re snfc, and with many other organizations, also,,, sadly this seems to be a sign of the times ,as in many sports . but regarding pigeon racing , and as ib says , this certainly puts a bad reflection on the pigeon sports image ,,,,,,,,,and as usual its the very small minority, that would even think of this
-
im just a wee bit confused roly, , but i think i slightly have the gist in what your saying first of all its the buyer whose going to part with his money,,,,,,,,,so, in doing so, should make sure he is getting value for his cash, i,e asking as many questions as he thinks fit , finding as much information on the seller [that is why members of this forum, putting birds on the for sale post are now being vetted as gennuine sellers] im quiet sure gennuine sellers would be only too happy to answer any questions regarding their pigeons,,,,,,the bottom line being, if you want to buy,, ask questions and seek as much info, as possible,,,,,,,,,,if you dont want to buy,,,,,, do nowt ;D

and well done harky,, great gesture

many years ago, i was rumoured to have given my birds steroids , unfounded off course, but never tested [and me 8 stone 12 ;D] on basketing my birds on the friday, i simply remarked " see those 12 cocks in the basket,,,,,,well they used to be hens" ;D ;D true,,,, [quieted one jealous fancier ;D]
-
yes i hope they do well and who knows some of these young lads may be very gratefull to" pigeon basics" in the future
-
would i be right in saying that any yellows this pair produced,, would be hens?? b,check cock paired with yellow hen

i think your thoughts are right ;D ;D ;D as boiling garlic in water will destroy the allicen in it , taking the goodness out of it.

yes i think chickadee is quite right,, my post was really to inform fanciers about these dome drinkers , but ok if bleached often ,,[which i didnt do for a while] the other is a great tip for fanciers getting darkness yb,s to finish the moult, last year at this time i bought 12 expensive darkness yb,s , some had never even threw one flight, [they were kept on darkness too long]but with the butter milk and some seeds , i even sprayed them every 4 days with warm water [as they didnt get out] this enabled them to complete the moult , moulting 2 or three flights at a time , enableing me to breed yb,s in late jan , which i gave away free,, quite a few of these yb,s did very well for different fanciers , the point being these were fully moulted birds breeding healthy robust yb,s
-
[1] cause you tend not to change the water every day these are for lazy folk [2] i dont keep birds on the darkness,, and never said i did ;D
-
well done valiant, fantastic result
-
just got 4 darkness yb,s,, on their third flight,, now giving buttermilk in their water,, done this last year,,, birds moulted out very qiuick . also, allthough i put clean water in regularly,, and wash the water dishes , i was shocked at the domed drinker i use in one section [the one you fill then fit to drinker then turn up side down ] i put my hand inside the dome and felt the slime,, ,, dug the old ordinary drinkers out,, bleached them , dried them , using them now ,,,[used the dome one when i was in hosp, but never changed it back, only handy if away for a couple of days]

needs air at the bottom level [something like clockmans] would even put them in the sides ,, the stale air will rise, to the top , where you seem to have ample ventilation,,
-
if youve a saw mill near you,, theyll cut to suit,, i managed to get lengths of 6ins high at front,, tapering down to i ins at the back,, you could either put tile battons on, then fit tiles ,, or fit ply,, then felt
-
welcome to the site brian ,,
-
hope its not mine cloudveiw ;D ;D ;D only kidding,, but great book
-
youve knocked it off their cloudveiw,, and old yellows post seems to clinch the colour part,,,, the grooters as there were most definately silvers and yellows in them,, now i also know how jim williams had quite a few silvers [as he had the grooters]
-
theres one thing about these ,,,theyll last
-
nearly gave me a fright there ;D ;D ;D i agree names of, strains mean nowt ,,, but breeding does , and theres a great big difference
-
i certainly agree with this , if we keep bickering welle have none my thoughts are that, with the fanciers help , we could have a good courier service in jamie [pigeontracker] i also think were far to critical of times etc,, as long as the pigeons are put first , as he says, and well looked after, that to me, is the main thing [weve had 7 day hold overs b4 , but with good looking after, the birds have came back gleaming] i should think if the birds are delivered in great condition , that should be our main concern
-
yes,, must give gangster credit where credits due , he really is a great guy to help if he possibly can,,,, and wee gangster ;D a chip of the old block,, a great help to me in cleaning .feeding , seperating my birds , when i was slightly unable to manage that day,,
-
i had one of these, allthough i do not suffer from this desease , my brother in law is an asthma sufferer and found it impossible to go anywhere near a pigeon loft ,,, as he said himself, this definately helped , allthough if entering the loft ,he still wore a mask also.
