Gareth, Im 2 miles from the Pentlands and they didnt clear until 4pm tonight, and it started raining here at that time, maybe explains why Ive got 2 europa birds at my loft.

The birds maybe cleared the transporter but they were flying up and down from Livingston to Edinburgh in batches of a couple of hundred.

I,ve got 1 in my loft just now and theres another one outside presume also a Europa, that Im trying to trap. No chance of them clearing Im only 8 miles from the lib point. I couldnt believe they were liberated in this weather and Ive got 7 in the race myself.

I've said for years that the inland racing into Scotland should be left to the federations to sort out themselves either with joint convoying or whatever it takes to be financially viable and leave the nationals to get on with sorting channel racing out, where they know what size of transporter and roughly how many birds will be going and maybe with a little come and go on both sides the 2 national clubs in Scotland could convoy together, also keeping their own identity for the hard liners sake...

Got to disagree with the blaw hame ME, I prefer a light N/W wind. Its on the nose I know, but in June & July usually a good racing day with sunshine & broken cloud and they usually come straight on line and the winners do 540 miles at about 40-41 mph. Now thats widowhood cock weather.
