Well I dont think you know where I am but they dont frighten me as much as they obviously frighten you. Up here in section c if you win the section it is an achievement and a good open position is a bonus. We dont complain about having to pool in the region against the Eyemouth guys we just get on with it and enjoy ourselves in the process and in the winter we have a laugh at guys like you who are negative about anything and everything and are beaten before the racing starts because you cant see the wood for the trees

That is a very bold statement to make. What you are in effect saying is that a fancier who has raced with the snfc for years in the west and has hardly ever been on a result just has to move east to be guaranteed a national win. If the whole west section(or region if you want) moved to Ayton the same guys would still be last every week

You must be joking! If they are liberated with the snfc doos they will want them in the race. But I dont suppose the west guys will mind hundreds more doos dragging theirs up the east because they are already trained to turn left at the roundabout at Dunbar

I may be missing something here but I always thought the principle of a one loft race was that in the FINAL race where the big money was won the birds in the one loft race were liberated on their own from whatever racepoint and not mixed in with hundreds of other pigeons. I have seen instances where the birds which are left after the final then go to a classic or national race.

Well the SNFC has survived nearly 120 years without your wisdom. If the majority of members wish to race from Germany, Norway, Ireland or even Timbuctoo it will be passed tomorrow. I think you will find out on Saturday there are plenty interested in the national although you wont be there to see it. Let me know when you have timed in from 500+ miles and are on a result so I can frame it to give me inspiration

It has been tried a number of times to change the first inland race(Newbury) to Wanstead Flats but it is always outvoted I think by the west and south members

We recognise they do fly a dog leg mainly cos they are trained that way. Geordie said he would like to see racepoints on the line of flight from Ypres and I asked which race points. Still waitin. Straight line fae Aberdeen to Ypres the national would need to hire a boat

The area around Dundee and Angus consistently perform well from the young bird national flying 50-60 miles further than the Eye valley and often beating the Edinburgh/Lothian area who fly 30-40 miles less. I have noticed that their yb programme goes out to 200 miles the week before the national. Is that the reason they are so successful

The members of the larger federations have it in their own hands to change things if they want. The likes of Lanarkshire could run a race from the south coast and convoy neighbouring federations at a lower birdage than the snfc. Why dont they do it?

Which is the best doo Walter. One which wins from the south coast into a north east wind flying 400 miles at 1050ypm or a doo flying from say Ypres maybe 500 miles in a sou west wind at 1650ypm

It did have more prestige and since they had to drop Rennes they have changed the race point more often than some folk change their drawers
