yes would agree with you and you could also argue that it would encourage people to breed more and send more as they are paying the same for 20 as 50 etc.

One way in which it could be an advantage is with budget control as say there were 100 members and each were paying say £85 for the year well the management commitee now know exactly how much revenue they will have for the year. makes it easier to paln etc.

dj welcome to the world of pigeons, firstly thank you for caring for some lost birds as we would all like our birds which get lost to arrive at the home of someone like yourself. dont be put off that owners did not want them back for they have probably too many in the first place. the best way to know if you are doing things correctly would be to find a local fancier in your area and ask him to have a look at them. as jason said try to get some pigeon feeding available from pet shops just a handful a day will be enough to keep them in good health etc.also any local fanciers may be able to help you out. if not keep posting on here for any advice as there are many good fanciers that will help you.

well said bart as the lads will have enough to do running their own stall. why not ask the webmaster if we could run a auction for superstar with birds from members etc.

great to see someone consider the fanciers in scotland and set up an auction of quality birds, if any of the scottish fanciers want to see the quality of stuart and raymonds birds i would suggest you payed a visit to their stand at blackpool. i am sure you would get excellent support and i for one would attend.

how can mr traynor now get a fair hearing considering he has been suspended by the alleged west of scotland fed for pointing out that someone has timed in his bird, and the person who timed in his bird is now in partnership with the shu president sloely for the purpose of keeping him a delegate. what chance has he got.

correct bart there are some field trials ongoing just now to see how these will work, they are only slightly larger than our normal rings and would be a good idea, what i would like to find out is can they make one ring to suit all the different systems as they only contain what is programmed onto them ie..the ring no and security code. would it not make sense for just one company to manufacture them and therefore reduce the costs etc........any ideas.

would have thougt it was simple, (if they did not resign before the agm and as you say some voted and lost well thats democracy) they should pay up, it does not matter that they did not fly a pigeon in the last 2 years or not.

hawkeye is like you say but once a bird in on the database its sire and dam can be added at the click of a button, if the birds are not at your loft you must add them as archive. you must input all info in order to get a full detailed pedigree.

can i ask where all the money goes, what are the good causes, etc any info anyone.......

Agree with you there square peg there was a very similar situation in the glasgow fed where the dumbarton club were not happy that the democratic vote, went against them and likewise they took part in the meeting, voted , lost by 92% to 7%( as you can see it was close) then never resigned and never paid fees, but somehow more than eight weeks later appealed to the shu(time barred.... 14 days) and never signed their letter (illegal) an never dated it(illegal) and never adressed it correctly(illegal) never registered it, but somehow the shu upheld the appeal as appearently our fed secetary tampered with the post(an accusation levelled by the shu.....unproven of course as how can you tamper with a letter that is 8 weks late not signed never sent and not registered). the same club wanted compensation for loosing the vote(their words not mine, the transporter would keep us happy, again their words not mine). so the glasgow fed officals appeared before the appeals commitee and questioned the validity of the appeal only to be told it was valid( ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D of course it was as they make the rules as it suits). now dumbarton never resigned so were liable to pay fees, they never did. the members had a choice to have them debt suspended via the rpra or to cut them loose and forget about them and leave them to fly their birds where they wanted, they choose the latter. ( all 9 members of them). so i can see where you are coming from only from a different angle

correct bart ........... your club dont want you to represent them, your fed dont want you to represent them, so what do you you do. you join a non entity of a fed with a non entity patrner who is himself embroiled in controversy after timing another fanciers bird in to claim 2nd section young bird national and overnight you move to become their fed delegate, says a lot for the members of the alleged fed does it not. the worrying concern for me is why are they so desperate to keep this person in control, are his strings so easily controlled that he must be kept in place. one fact i do know is that the rest of the uk unions and organisations must be looking at this shambles and laughing up their sleeves.....again.

can i sak if the year you raced from belgium was a successful race ie were there birds timed into each section in reasonable time and were returns good etc.
