  1. Aye Derek, just takes a bit of time finding them. Aye, rest him for a week then away to Peterborough I think. 338 miles. Will see how hes doing.
  2. Hes looking a bit better today Derek, he felt it yesterday but no wonder. A clever doo Its funny, my two best birds on the day, one been at every race this year and one in his first ever.!!!
  3. Thanks chaps, not much doubt about that then First year was a hen Malky Brown bred me Andy. next one was a son from her. Next one was a bit of Pete Patrick/Frank/Stainthorpe this one is Malky/Frank/Stainthorpe/Patrick/maidmaent and maybe maclean
  4. Pick of cock after he got back. seems in great order considering. Got my third doo this morning, was disappointed when he didn't arrive yesterday as that was his 4th race. Easy to see why he was late. The blue was just 1.5 hours behind cheq ck yesterday, well chuffed with him too as it was his first race, hadn't been past Inverary before.
  5. Im going to stop the cock that came well yesterday and stock him. He has proved he can make it into Oban 5 times with a few of them hard enough days. Each year I have done the same with my best birds. I have 2 cocks and 2 hens now. Question is, should I pair each of them to other doos giving me 4 pairs or pair them to each other giving me 2 pair? Al.
  6. Thanks chaps, do appreciate the comments. Some game the doo game right enough, not many hobbies will put you through so many emotions
  7. 16.03 Nine hours 40 odd minutes but he didn't look like he'd done anything.
  8. Aye Derek Alexandria. Made my weekend That's 5 races he has had this year, been my most consistent doo. Thinking he might go in the stock end with the others that have flown to me. Think hes proved he can do it. Just need a few more like him and the others.
  9. Wetherby Derek, 236 mile to me.
  10. Just found out I was 2nd club today, have to say Im delighted
  11. What time were you in Rab?
  12. I didn't doubt it Andy many thanks. Will be giving lots of thought to several ideas.
  13. I can't hold onto reds or meallies here. Loft just full of blues and cheq with a few white flights.
  14. Rab I was talking to Malky in Arrochar yesterday, he pretty much said the same thing about missing early races. Think that might be the plan for next year. Will look into the single tossing too. Thanks for your thoughts.
  15. Going for a toss or two for those that miss a race, can do them single up too which should help. Just want to be sure I am doing the best for them fitness wise etc, nothing I can do about the terrain but want to be sure I get them right. If there were more boats down your way Rab I would move down for sure
  16. Fortunate to have a good view when Im waiting on the doos, hours yesterday. Lofts just out of site at bottom of pic.
  17. Not a feather back today, weathers still grim. Think I need to try giving a wee toss mid week right enough, was hoping I could avoid them running the gauntlet and just do their thing round the loft.

Only one cock back from Aycliffe, 199 miles, did 873ypm which isn't too bad for flying into here I think. He has been my most consistent doo in the 4 races so far. He has been at every race, the other four missed last weeks race as they had a harder one the week before. They seemed in good enough condition but I thought I should maybe give them a week of. Should I not have held them back? Needing some advice chaps?? Weathers grim up here today, not great for them working home.
  19. All but the first race seem to have been hard Walter, problem is I cant wait as if I miss the early ones its too big a jump I think. We were driving home looking at trees etc, even they don't thin k its warm enough yet, seems we are a month behind with temperatures this year.
  20. Got one from Greenock today from first Dunbar race, Thanks to Arthur Arkley for reporting it, Eddie McCann for getting it to Malky Brown and Malky for getting it to me
  21. Be dark before I see mine then
  22. 5 doos away, fingers crossed. Looking forward to it. Still a lot of bleedin snow on the mountains here but was ten degrees this evening driving back home.
  23. I see a lot of feds are postponing till Sunday. looking at XC weather Saturday doesn't have a great start but brightens up fine, Sunday Brighter all day but up to 40mph gusts on top of a stiff S wind. No Word of Glasgow postponing, need to go and basket doos now and head down road so hopefully we are still on for Saturday race
  24. Looking better all the time for tomorrow. 200 mile to me with Glasgow Fed, looking forward to a better race with a bit more warmth in the air
  25. That's a really sore one for you boys, hope they turn up, Weathers a bit brighter here now.
