  1. No...............it gets locked up at night...............you never who might me lurking about!...............there is also a 2.4m x 2.4m x 2.4m section and flight attached to the back.......... I prefer maximum air flow in my lofts
  2. I had been on me hols ;D
  3. Just found these photos of a few of the birds in the Stock loft........ and so you can put a face to the name......there's also a picture of me and me boy...who loves his pigeons almost as much as I do ........and a polite notice,,,,before the pm's start...............I do not have any for sale at the momement ;D
  4. Thanks for the email all........ These birds have all now been sold to one lady in Aberdeen.... For those who were kind enough to pm me......I shall keep you in mind for future sales........................ Regards Paul
  5. THANKS ALOT!!
  6. GB 07 S 17850 no tel no- wingstamp or race rubber............... abit on the thin side..............could be a late bred.....or lost before YB racing Can anyone ID this please Thanks Paul
  7. I have 5 pure white Logun cocks surplus to requirement & for sale. I have used these for my dove release company for releases upto 65 miles......and they have done everything I've asked of them. These birds are not rrpa rung, as I do not race (until next year...so watch out!!! ). I bred them from my original Logun stock bought several years ago and have proven to throw white every. They range for 1 - 3 years old, and are fine looking birds that would make a welcome additon to someones stock loft. I am away on holiday as of tonight for a week, but will be popping in on the laptop occasionally.......... First come first serve...I will 'stack' any interest, and deal with it upon my return. I am looking for £25 per bird plus AMTRAK of course. Cheers Paul ps photos to follow shortly..............
  8. quite simply a late bred bird is bred late on in the racing season.....Its too yongu to race for that year...but if from good stock 'could' b a welcome visitor in someones stock loft. Most racing pigeons arebred at teh beginning of the year so that they are good and strong come racing time
  9. did they fly well for you Davey????
  10. Yes...........just like racing horses and dogs.......Personally I have Buschaert Rapidos.....one I have given the pet name of 'Growler', simply becasue he hates me..... (example) If I race with him and he proves expeptional with many wins under his belt, then I put him into stock and sell the 'direct youngsters of Growler'...x club 1sts....x fed 1sts,,,,1st in this x2 firsts in that............slip some nice photos in to the advert....£150 per bird...........convincing to the novice isn't it?.........I did however forget to mention that 'The Growler' was given to me by an old bloke who bred it as a late bred and did want to bin it..... the buyer should assume responsibilty for validating the claim in the first..............but unless you are certain................it means nothing. .......(that dosn't mean to say that all papers and pedigress are bogus......but it does leave its self wide open for abuse)
  11. As you know I am getting geared up to start racing next year after keeping pigeons for over 17 year. I am abit wet when it comes to names but I've been offered 2 pairs of Janseens Van den Bosh (i think thats how its spelt!)...with papers from a guy I am affiliated with who is somewhat an authority on pigeons. Are these sprint / middle distance / or distance birds......a bit more info please if anyone has any......they are beatiful gay pied birds...infact I'd go as far as to sat that cock birds are amongst the most powerfull and handsome as I've seen. cheers
  12. looking for suggestions on moving a loft without having to dismantle it!! I have a 10 x 5 loft (in the picture) that I want to move to the bottom of my garden......it was an bugger to take down and re-errect when I got it.. Its well made, and I'm thinking of getting about 10 of me buddies around and threading some heavy duty straps underneath with some schaffolding bars threaded through and then lifting it. What do you recon?......its 19 mil tounge and groove and very heavy....anyone done this??? or have any other suggestion???...cant roll it as the ground is uneven... what ever shall I do????
  13. If you have knollege of the form of certain pigeons and you are specifiacly interesetd in lines and performance of the same and logging family ancestory then a pegigree is not worth a bean..... Its just a record / family tree that is not govenered by any body........that can be drawn by anyone.....dosnt mean a birds is any better than a birds with no history.. Like I say...a £20K bird will fly no better that a feral if the loft management isn't right!!!!
  14. those youngsters are nice and fat!.... you loft seems to built form sterling board which is very very permiable and will warp when wet.....Perhaps its treated now but if not........it may be something you need to consider.......otherwise it'll get hellish damp in there......the loft will rot...............and your birds health will suffer
  15. do you have any contact details dfor Blakes please.......I've tried 'googling' them with no luck thanks
  16. thanks...I have emailed them for a quote ..................anymore anyone?????
  17. never thought of that...................dont buy it often...unless I want to buy some birds!!!!
  18. whats a mob flier please????
  19. I did mention this in another thread so sorry for the duplication.... I'm wanting to start racing next year, after 17 years of keeping racing pigeons......my current loft was purchased from a local racing man who had packed up. Could I have some names of companies please who make lofts.....and for the record, do these companies offer re-payment plans or finance?? (Petron is out of the questions - too pricey for me!) cheers Paul
  20. thats my kinda bird.......................your birds are a credit to you...and as good as I've in a long time!!!
  21. heres a picture of my stock loft, which is 10 x 6 and houses 6 pairs..........I have a brick garage which you cant see with a flight on the end that I keep my YB's in and train them to. I am looking to put the stock loft to the bottom of the garden, and buy a new one with 2/3 sections..as I want to start racing next year. With regards to lofts......where are the best places to get them from?.......and is it customary for these companies to offer a repayment scheme / finance???........ cheers
  22. 10p & a straight Bannana!
  23. done the same!...................had strays in...and have kept them and flown them for several years.......then one day they suddenly realise that they dont live with you and go home............had this a couple of times!!!!!
  24. hey sam...for one minute there I thought you'd been in my loft taking photos!!!!!! To be honest I am short on hens myself...and am looking for about 4!...If I find a reliable source at a reasonable price, I will let you know lad!
  25. I'll see what I can do when paired to a white hen he usually throws mainly whites with a couple of dusty red feathers on the back.............hes not looking his usual self at the moment as hes starting to moult on his face..............but I love his stature........We'll see how his offspring race next year!!!
