  3. although I've kept pigeons for over 20 years I have only ever raced for a couple of seasons.....not having any real guidance other than my own sself taught ways, I flew natural...which was fine.....had some success...but nothing outstanding... The other day I was talking to a very succesful local flyer, who raced lesbain hens on the widowhood system...... This was a new one on me................and it was then it dawned on me that other than the basics I knew very little about different racing systems.....Most folks fly natural, widowhood, roundabout to name a few...but I wondered if there were any other weird and wonderfull systems that people use to some sucesss...........it would be really interesting to hear about these and they work!
  4. I lost a full round last year....................................3rd time out of the loft...14 pecking around tetnmatively around the loft with a couple on the garage roof... Next doo neighbour appeared out the garage at 6 in the morning...with his motor bike and slammed the door loudly......immediately the birds craned their necks on full alert and were looking really twitchy............... Then it happened......he kick started the powerfull bike and heavily reved it.....up they went in blind panic................and never to been seen again...not one........... this wasn't bad management or overcrowding........the YB's just didn't know how to get back.........so they probably kept on flying in any direction until they dropped.
  5. Yes...they really are belters...I bought them about 8 months from a one of the leading G.B.H showers in the UK...(not to mention any names :X). I wanted to to try and breed them back to the Rapido's to see if I would get a racey looking bird with a fuller head for the 'dove releases', but they paired up straight away...so I let nature do its thing..............I've had two rounds off them but I'm trying to thin them down abit as I have 15 more Bushies coming next week.........
