  1. On the subject of toes I saw a youngster a few years back that had 5 toes-3 at the front and 2 at the back of the foot
  2. This only works when they are ringing age as there feet/toes will change shape etc when they start putting weight on them. Look out for it this year and put it in yer book when yer ringing Its the right and left one you should pay attention to when you press them against the middle one
  3. I'm not great at uploading pictures from phones/cameras but managed to find it online there Its pretty much identical to this It doesn't take a lot of wind to make the wee mirrors rotate,it spins pretty much all day
  4. My neighbours put a rotating mirrored ornament in their front garden a few months back-around 40ft from our loft. Since they put this up I have not had a sparrow hawk at the loft with the exception of one day. This day came after a windy spell where the thing was blown over. They have a couple of young Japanese Akitas that are always up to mischief, nothing can be left lying or they are away with it . They took the ornament round the side of the house that day and sure enough there was a sparrow hawk visited the loft. Since its been put back up I have not seen as much as a feather of them, there are however lofts a mile or so away who have had birds pinned recently and I have seen a sparrow hawk close by when driving on roads near the loft. Is there something in this or am I kidding myself on? Any body used any of the cds or shiny tapes as deterrants? do they work?
  5. Some smashing stories
  6. Do you remember the breeding of that one Homer? cracking performance
  7. Excellant Some top men there again. Its sad to see the SCC channel race is no more-for many years it had more support from the fanciers in central Scotland than the SNFC Rennes race, the birdage isn't there any more I'll never forget the first time I seen a pigeon come from France. It was from the SCC Lille race in 2002,I was twelve at the time and helping my father with the doos. Can't remember exact lib time, but think it was around 0700.We timed at 1738,I was jumping around like a nutter .We finished 1st Fed,2nd SCC that day and it was Robert Cormack that won the combine timing at 1722-he called the pigeon 'Lyrona Dainty'. I met Robert for the first time at the SCC presentation that same season-hes always given me great encouragement and in my eyes is one of the best there has been. I only found out from Robert last week that Tom Arthur passed away before Christmas.Sad news.Tom came across as one of the old gents of the sport and had a terrfic record from the French races.
  8. Interesting to see once more 67 Some great fliers on the result, past and present As a youngster starting up racing the pigeons into Central Scotland John McNeill and Robert Cormack were heroes of mine. They still are I suppose top men

  11. Afraid not Novo. As for the lofts the one at the front is an original Muttlé,the one in the middle was built by the Macmillans and they've had some butchery over the years by our own fair hands. The shed at the right was built by Jim Heeps of Plean/California.This is used for storage;in there I have Adidas,Reeboks,Nikes but unfortunately I've not found the right pair yet .Will persavere til I get there I've a cracking pair of Diadoras the hens quite like at the minute-fingers crossed it will be our year. What size feet are you? I'll send you some up to try this season if ye fancy??
