  1. Thanks Andy Not quite Bill Wortley, but I enjoyed doing it
  2. very well done
  3. The spacing hasnae turned out ideal when its been uploaded, its clumped some bits together. No matter though Should have some more pictures in the one thats sent to the BHW.Had a bit of computer difficulty with them Bosworth was first class to talk to in person and over the phone. The information he provided was excellant and I'm thankful to him for allowing me to compile the report.
  4. Said before on this thread I am not bothered either way,but would hate for it to go through and cause members from any area to leave the club or stop supporting the races.
  5. Obviously you can manipulate figures to say whatever you want,But i can't think of any fancier in Section D flying at present with top 10 open positions to match the fanciers listed above. So going on these figures do the fanciers in Section E have anything to fear pooling in the same region as the ones in Section D? Another interesting thing is if you look at the old birds results of the last two seasons and pick out where the Mid West region winner would be from. You get Airdire,Plean x 2,Newbigging,Broxburn x 2, Chryston, Clackmannan, Stirling,Whitburn,Cambuslang and Ravenstruther.Again does that look very scary?
  6. As much as there isn’t a lot of support for it on here I do believe it will go through. Mainly as a result of this season’s YB national it has a greater appeal to very many of the fanciers who would fall into the mid-East region. If it does go through I would hate to see anything too drastic happen. I’d like to re-emphasise to those in the current West Region that had the motion been carried last year the Mid-West average winner would have Jock and Isabel Alston. To me the greatest appeal is flying for open positions and here are some of the national open positions achieved between two of the current West Regions Modern greats, 1st,1st, 2nd,2nd,4th,4th,5th,5th,5th,6th,8th,9th, Make of these figures what you want
  7. It was there for the taking that one
  8. Bring her over to Avonbrig,I've a cracking red cock we can run her with
  9. Aye a picked that up as well Del When it went to 2 each I said to ma dad Bristow has it bang on hes crafty right enough
  10. Great game Taylor is too good.Sometimes I think he just switches off at times and does daft things to keep it interesting and give it a bit of publicity. Taylor,Barry Hearne and Bristow arenae daft, darts has been very good to them
  11. I think Taylor will win. Van Gerwin's big scoring will bring out the same in Taylor and I think the Power has the edge when it comes to finishing. Looking forward to it.Hopefully see some more moments of magic from Van Gerwin
  12. Have a read at these performances.Timing in birds from the Faroe Islands-802miles http://www.elimarpigeons.com/Article3/GeorgeStubbsTheMasterPigeoner.htm
  13. Read through this as well and I'll stick to what I touched on earlier in this thread. All this is a distraction from the things that really matter and things that could potentially make racing fairer. Keep telling myself not to get involved in these conversations but to me the problems lie with the inland nationals.NO PB member has given an example thus far on this thread of unfair channel races, but a number of members have stated figures regarding inland nationals. How these races into an area that covers nearly 200 miles from top to bottom and is 120 mile wide at points can be classed as fair is beyond me. Listened to a number of experienced fanciers who are pro inland nationals and I am still not convinced. To me they are one of the worst things thats happened to the SNFC.This of course is only my opinion and I would never fall out with someone over the matter. Again having seen what I can see and speaking to a number of experienced fanciers I believe a real factor that would be of benefit to the fairness of national races for the majority is a change of racing line. Perhaps not nice to say it as obviously race points such as Rennes,Nantes,Avranches and Sartilly made our club what it is, but I feel we should leave France behind and make the future of Scottish National racing Belgium. As for encouraging members to join, send and support I think the membership fee structure needs to changed dramatically.Would like to see a sort of pay per race policy introduced and prize money divied between say the first three in each section. It amazes me that there is an organisation in my area where 100 birds can be racing from 400miles for a £1000 first prize and the national, with all our resources, can't compete with such a race on the prize money front.
  14. Hope yous all have a good one when it comes Off out fer now to ma pals where we will drink until we can't string sentances together and honk on cigars that would choke a camel Speak to yous next year
  15. well done all Fingers crossed 2013 brings yous all some more
  16. another proposal from the floor could be to do away with North,South,East and West and go with A,B,C,D,E,F,G ?? all it would do is the same the thing-Take away a betting column from the pools sheet we wouldnae have to throw out as many trophies either
  17. A few questions, Not 100 % sure on the answers?? Will it affect diplomas? From what I can see the current format is only to state the position won in the sections A,B,C,D etc. and the open position. If this is continued if the change goes through I would say no. Will it encourage members to send ie. Bigger birdages ? I don’t see why it should or shouldn’t but realistically I would say no. Will it give fanciers a better chance of picking up Silverware at the dance and/or receiving greater recognition for their achievements? Again I’d be tempted to say no. Will it shrink the area fanciers in the current East and West region are betting in. Yes Is this a good thing? For some yes for others no-Some lofts are being taken out of regions and moved to others where they are flying for less pools. Will it affect the outcome of the Open results and make actual racing fairer/better spread with greater returns? No Is it a distraction from things that really matter such as trying to encourage members to send to races and improving the races themselves through route, distances, prize money in the Sections etc ? I’d be tempted to say yes All in all I feel the same as I felt about it this time last year- impartial/not at all a*sed
  18. Cheers I'll have it in a drawer somewhere
  19. See a couple of members mentioning a map.Our envelope didn't include one. Is it just the exact same as the one last year?
  20. The Killyleagh fanciers arguing over the racepoints and sections would fit right in at our meeting next month I thought we'd have had the diplomas and the AGM stuff by now.Didn't take a note of the date they arrived last year
  21. Yes he was caught hook, line and sinker.Still a bit of dubiety over what performances were legit and which ones weren't.Some believe the early perfomances were 100% real so to tarnish them with his latter stupidity is a great shame. At least justice was eventually met and it was handled in the correct manner. Maybe 'past greats' was slightly innapropriate as a heading.Tom Marshall is still to the fore year on year in the INFC and EDC,class act
  22. Gave this old video a watch again recently. Some of its quite interesting Starts off at the loft of Billy Erwin, where the group pass round 'Moonlight Mannequin' for inspection
