  1. Very much appreciated
  2. One of the few sports the UK have absolutely dominated the last few decades is snooker Not so sure they'll be as dominant in 15 or 20 years though.China ??
  3. Yeh I just missed one on Ebay will have a look around, maybe have a wee ask at the library and see if they could get it in
  4. Anybody got a copy of this book I could borrow for a week or two? Would be willing to pay postage and a rental fee Read a good few old articles about him recently and liked the story of "The Plum".Went to buy the book off Amazon this morning and its coming in at around £40.Wasn't really hoping to be paying that kinna money for it but would be interested to have a read at it if anybody can help Cheers
  5. My aim is to keep enjoying the doos as much as I have been since starting back up racing in 09. Got some two year olds now, very pleased with the way they flew as yearlings so would ideally like to get on the result from a channel race
  6. Top man Hes been looking fairly dangerous again the last two or three seasons....watch this space
  7. Aye the good old Northwest Fed-The A*sehole of Scotland Our club actually has some of its members in the East Section and some in the West. What are the other clubs like this that people know of?? Please note I'm not complaining, there has to be a boundary line somewhere it just so happens to be under a mile West from my house
  8. Basically the best thing to take from this thread GEO is there is no right or wrong with doos. Listen to people and take on board what they say but when alls said and done they're your doos There is no rush and theres a lot of hurdles you'll meet before you'll need to worry about sending yearlings to 500 miles. All the best for 2011,hope you get the doos settled without any bother to their new home
  9. Were the McIvor Bros. farmers or am i wrong?
  10. John Ellis of Wellbank won a Gold Award with a 3 year old pigeon
  11. Blow torches are handy round the hut for cobwebs etc. be careful though or your doos might not get to see their new hut
  12. How the Young yin could dae wae some mare doos like the Harribars
  13. The top 2 in 2010s Gold Cup race are as good as your likely to get in club, fed and national racing
  14. Not been on the site much recently some interesting posts John Hodgson,Jammie Donaldson,Walker & Wilson,Jim Hannah they're all "gods" of Scottish national racing in my eyes. There will always be someone who has a "better" measurement than you even in your own village, street or compound.Realistically the only loft location you need to be concerning yourself with is your own. RACE PIGEONS NOT RACEPOINTS enjoy your pigeons and their performances in 2011
  15. A top flier in my area told me if you are ever in a position where your in a good fanciers loft and he asks you to pick out his best pigeon pick the one that you wouldn't give a second glance. Hes not goint to be keeping it because it looks nice but he'll have his reasons
  16. Got three lofts at the minute with a 12x6 on the way soon for some darkies. got a 28x8,an 18 x 14 and an 8x6 all the birds are on natural. Have messed around with widowhood in the past but the lofts I've got at the moment aren't really ideally suited to it and will soon have to be moved for a house to be built. Once the house is built will get a more kinna permamnent set up and hope to have a dozen or so widowhood cocks as well as the natural birds
  17. Few flakes of snow falling on Avonbrig right now
  18. Stop drinking lucozade!! probably spending around £15 a week on it,I dae like it though
  19. his newspaper column is the best thing he has going at the moment-hilarious Tramadol Nights is funny in places but on the whole a bit dissapointing. obviously when your on tv etc as much as he is it'll be difficult to come up with new stuff but he seems to only use about 5 or 6 jokes got kevin bridges dvd for christmas, its excellant!! he sums up Scotland so well
  20. Do they have any homing ability or are they just ornamental?
  21. HOME ALONE!!!!!
  22. I was in a fairly similar situation last year.I hadn't raced a pigeon since 2007 so most of the youngsters I raced in 09 were or off of new doos I'd got in.After 4 races to 155mile I was left with 36.After this years OB programme I've 25 of the 36 left most of them are out of Leicester(255) or Maidstone(380).Got a wheen of youngsters left this year so it gives me plenty to be getting on with for next season.Fingers crossed I'll get some across the channel
  23. No doubt a few will be looking to pair shortly some maybe already have.In an ideal world we'd like improve upon improvement and get better every year, doesn't always work that way going into the breeding season and next years racing are you and your team in a stronger or a weaker position than you were this time last year?
  24. Been watching the doos mess about all morning.Snows getting a bit heavy so they've decided to go inside as have I. The Clint Eastwood/Sergio Leone box set is looking like a gid option-man with no name marathon me thinks Sposed to be goin out for dinner tonight for a pals birthday but if this here snow persists it'll be another of maws Sunday culinary treats
