I see where you're coming from but I'm afraid these days we will NEVER get all fanciers happy. It's just the way things are

The fact is, there isn't a blanket ban on anyone!!! There are classes there for anyone, that really want to show their pigeons. I don't see any point in trying to guess what the reaction would be from quoting NEHU & Blackpool shows, as they don't do it. Why not just be grateful that they are trying to get something up and running, and give the guys a chance to make things better in the future ??

Got to agree with this post, No matter what is organised there will NEVER be any chance of pleasing EVERYONE and that is fact! What we have here is a group of people that have went out on a limb to try and get something up and running. Hats off to them I say, yes maybe they have made mistakes at their first attempt, but if we can support this venture and encourage them to keep things like this going then they will get a feeling of what fanciers are looking for and can hopefully begin tweaking things for the better, for future years. As the previous poster has stated "things will never change untill there is no sport left". I think it is about time we started trying to focus on the positive side of things instead of picking out the negative stuff before it is too late, as I feel we are rapidly running out of the good guys that are willing to work their butts off trying to make things better for no reward. We see it all here during the race season, all the armchair race controllers etc. I was under the impression that the show season was supposed to be a time to socialise with other fanciers, compare birds & ideas and try to have a bit of fun during a quiet time of the year. We should ALL support this show if possible, enter our birds in whatever classes that are available to us and let everyone see that it isn't too late. The future is still in our own hands, but maybe not for much longer!!

I think you are getting yourself worked up over nothing, All John stated was that everyone involved in showing doo's knows that it goes on , he never stated that everyone takes part in this practice

You're welcome for the small part I did & I would also like to thank Davie Gullane & Austin Whittaker for everything they did. It was great to meet Austin again and hopefully some time in the future I will get the chance to meet and thank Davie in person. On the downside, for my sins I did have to endure the trip to Methil sittin next tae Clockie Only kiddin mate, thanks for organising things to make it all happen

Huge well done to everyone that timed, but this post reflects exactly the way I'm feeling as well. HOPEFULLY we're wrong!! But this crap weather was forecast all week,Sunday was allways going to be a better day, should be no excuses! Rant over, I'm now away to take it oot on ma bike
