  1. In fact what sealed it for me was, i went to Carluke for feeding this morning at 11.30am, on ma way back a batch of about 30 were going along beside the car at Waterloo, they were getting driven into the pylons by the wind, now they were doing Forsbery Flops and all sorts but fortunately none came to grief. It was then i decided i was waiting 'til later on the day. But your right fae 2 onwards it was ok
  2. I waited tae 5 before i went, the visibility across in to Hamilton was poor up to lunchtime so i left it to late before going, had a good toss right enough. Goes to show us we never know what hits them!
  3. I know others went earlier, but i didnae take mine 'til 5pm the night, for me i got the best of the weather the day. 47/47 way 3 coming single a few minutes behind the batch.
  4. Thats 2 snide races the day fae nae mare than tossing distance, our forefathers will be turning in their graves!!!
  5. Far be it for me to split hairs, but is a fancier no obligated to MAKE CONTACT with the finder within 3 days or so? If so is he not within his rights to discourage the finder from feeding it, in the hope it will make its own way home. Now i only beg the question, the guy is Morally out of order if nothing else!
  6. where were they coming fae?
  7. was the same the day!!! big Alan told me to leave them in the loft as he couldn't see Bellshill. but iget yer point
  8. I never even let ma young birds out yesterday morning, they would only have got blown all over the place, probably hitting phone wires and the like, wisnae great later on either!
  9. We all get the headstrong yb's that would drive you crazy, it'll learn soon enough, just don't feel sorry for it and feed it when it eventually comes in. Hunger truly does make good kitchen, and obedient young birds!!
  10. I know you worked them in the basket this season big man, maybe concentrate on rest next year to keep them fresh going away 500 miles. No matter what, you canny be far off the mark after this morning

  14. Starting the season with only 12 2yr olds, i was never gonna get to all the national races. So at the start of the year i decided to target 4 races to score in, Peterborough, Bovingdon, Eastbourne and Ypres. I managed to do it, mind you Eastbourne and Peterborough could have been better but all in all i'm very pleased with my season. On the losses front i am down 30 fae 53, on the upside the doos i thought were ma best yearlings are still there and ma 4 best 2yr olds are still there, so canny complain about the losses either. The others just couldn't handle the racing this year.
  15. Well done, that was a tough race for them.
