    Transport

Lets no be 2 faced about this transport issue, EVERY Fed that has put a bid in or have been asked for a quote are doing so to MAKE MONEY out of it. We ( Lanarkshire ) put in a bid that would have gained VERY LITTLE profit but as we are continuing to fund raise every little counts. Despite all the talk of Wicker v Aluminium i've never heard from a Doo what its preference is, but it seems there are plenty of members on here that have heard from their doos, wish you's could inform me how to speak their language.

  13. Was interviewed for a job within LAMH who are my present employers, it was essentially a promotion i was after and low and behold i got it Tae sweeten it up even more its about a 30% pay hike to boot I've never sweated over a job as much in my life but this was a make or break as my present job will be fazed out in about 4 weeks time, so i would have been signing on if a failed the interview, however the feed back i got was my interview was Brill
  14. Here's what happened to me with my ETS. A bird arrived and entered the loft, there is a 2.5 inch runner along the front of my loft, including through the traps and the bird has to cross this before reaching the pad. There is a blocker in place as my traps are twice the width of an ETS pad, the blocker Forces the doos to walk over the Pad AFTER entering the loft. The bird i am highlighting slid around the blocker turning left on entry, ETS ring is on its Left leg so it didn't record its arrival as the ETS ring only went over the afore mentioned runner and missed the pad. I entered the loft caught her and scanned her over the pad manually. To me the positioning of the pad INSIDE the loft is paramount to it being LEGAL to use, even if it can present problems as i've just described. I have of course re positioned the blocker so a repeat is not possible now. The bird was my Ypres section winner in 2010 and my point is no matter what timing system you choose to use, if your bird is out in front you'll win the race. Simples. Ps. I disagree with the use of more than one pad per loft as i see that as an advantage over the manual clock users who race to different lofts in their garden and would have to carry their clock from one loft to another to time in different birds, even from one Section to another is a hindrance to them if the ETS user has a pad at EACH trap. Ps. Mind this is my PERSONAL position on it and does not represent anyone else's views, well at least none that have been said to me. atvb to all regardless of your chosen time in method, this season i will be using my Benzing manual clock for the Old bird season at least though will probably revert to ETS for my Yb's as catching them can dissuade them from trapping at all if they're home first more than once that is.

    Transport

I beg to differ Jade, as you know i was on the committee for the past 3/4 seasons and imo, my input was to debates were dismissed out of hand because John run the SNFC as HE seen fit, it now appears that Phil will do likewise. BOTH men are at the top of my Respect list for the job they took on and i absolutely believe ALL decisions they took were with the Very best intentions. However if that is how the SNFC wish to be run then why have a committee in the first place. Not once had they any difficulty contacting me when i was needed to do some work, eg verifications/attend meetings etc, but when it came to moving the birds to Cheltenham last year all of a sudden they didn't manage to get hold of me for my opinion on the matter. That was a slap in the face to me and the others who's input wasn't requested or Required.
  16. Cheers Arachie, i like to get things paid early, otherwise i forget all about it.

  21. The success of the Dalzell Open race today justifies sticking to our ( Lanarkshire) program, some fanciers have Chosen to Train their doos and others not to, because of the temps in particular, and the overall weather conditions in general. However some fanciers have carried on regardless and who's to say one train of thought is superior to the other
  22. Rules regarding Club "Open" races have nothing to do with a Fed or the SHU, just as the boundaries of a club are outwith anyone else's influence.
  23. Well whatever i done with this new bleedin winaes 8, i managed to disable my laptop altogether then when i got it "fixed" i realised it wisnae letting me onto the internet and the wee touch pad for ma cursor wisnae responding, think that was Tuesday night and i've only now got the Cursor working and am obviously back online so i'm thinkin of advertising ma self as a windaes 8 technician noo
