I have watched this thread and have read Most of if not all the posts. For what its worth these are M.O.'s on pigeon husbandry. 1. I have NEVER had ybs in my lofts. 2. I don't treat birds with medication of any sort. (exception is PMV Vaccination) 3. I have treated birds in the past for Canker/Worms. 4. It made not an IOTA of difference to the performance or overall health of the birds. 5. My motive is to have birds that are immune to General disease by NATURAL selection/constitution. 6. I am VERY close to having the type of birds described above. 7. IMO the men who treat blindly and en mass there whole team when 1 (ONE!) bird is sick are ruining their own pigeon's immune system. 8. Am happy with what and how a handle my birds and am the ONLY one i need to please. 9. YOU!! are the only one who needs to be happy with the way YOUR birds are treated/untreated. 10. MOST IMPORTANTLY!! Enjoy your hobby and don't get bogged down by other fancier's IDEA'S of how YOUR birds should be treated because it's MOSTLY their best GUESS!! as to what to do with under performing/sick birds. The above is entirely JMO, and in my garden that's the only Opinion that counts. Have a great weekend and enjoy your racing.

Nae need ta Charlie, the adrenalin kicks in when the strings are cut and they start walking round in circles inside the basket, pushin and peckin cos they know when the strings are cut they'll be out soon, they learn quickly too.

I was totally gobsmacked Watty and before i had time tae gather ma thoughts and thank him properly he had left, am still gobsmacked the now, unbelievable generosity and thoughtfulness to give the quality of these birds away to help another fancier and another club. When the thread came up the other week about Class, this was the type of action that i was referring to as being TOP CLASS.

No very often am i left speechless but this morning was one such occasion. Went to Carluke club and when there met Jock Alston who had travelled down to OFFER!! 2 Yb's to the Motherwell club sale. The man hadn't been asked for them, he seen the topic on here and thought if it was for club funds he could help out by making a donation of Yb's to the sale. In conversation i mentioned to Jock i had purchased a Yb he donated to the Dalzell FC sale a couple of weeks ago and it was doing fine, he promptly offered me my pick of the pair he had with him to go with the one i bought. I was actually Speechless by his generosity, not just to me but to Motherwell Club too. To let you understand, his Yb's fetch 3 figure sums in the sale rooms!! Well i took my pick, the Blue WF hen Yb, as the one i had is a Ck so i could pair them next season all going well but i couldn't stop thinking of the nest mate, a Red Grizzle. So i put a reserve bid with TheHigg and it is now happily sitting in my Yb loft too, 2 beautiful Yb's they are too. So a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Jock (Rebus on PB) for his kindness to me, it will live long in me.

This i believe just shows how Intelligent the Sparrow hawk is. People say they are frightened of the crow family but i beg to differ after seeing this.

Nice one, keep it up mate cos the days when your no winnine Andy, sounds like you've took to racing like a duck to water and the win will fuel your passion, best advice at this time is to keep doing what you are now and it'll stand ye in good stead for the rest of the season

Well i took 9 mins out of the field from last weeks race with Eadie and Kelly looking like winning at 11.57. am no in til 12 past but that's 9 mins faster than last week so the fitness is improving. Sent a mixed bunch today and consequently have only 13/18 though some might show up in the morning when they get over the shock of their first race, especially the hens i took out the stock team and put on the road, shock to their system as some are 3yrs old never in a race basket before.

You're no wrong there Peter, but in ma defence the Hail Stone showers we got meant a wisnae TOO FAR wrong Ps, thinks for the comments it is appreciated by ALL the committee, and as stated above the work done by Gareth has been invaluable to the fed and immeasurable in effort, same applies to all the committee, we are all doing our level best to get things moving forward and are all equally working hard to do it. A special mention for Cammy too, who is doing a First Class job as Sec/Treas
