In my park outside my house I often see a couple of lads flying them, they belong to a local club for Drones, so the old mind started wondering, would one of those be useful for giving a bit fly around at the race point before liberation to clear any BOP etc, and I believe would be legal, I just acquired one and chose a ugly looking one with the eyes and the nose is a flashing light also a camera take pics and video, pic below,

blimey , maybe not such a good idea :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

thats a trained eagle dont think a sparrow hawk or kestrel would do that, that bird was as large as the man handling it ,emoticon-0136-giggle.gifemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

My friend makes and flies model aeroplanes. On one occasion the plane was attacked by the resident buzzards because he flew it too close to their nesting site. One broken plane never found again, nor any of the bits. BOP are territorial. :)

I also have a drone, make sure you have plenty of practice flying it in wide open spaces such as parks or beaches, where there are no hazards, until you feel very confident in operating one. I have friend who lost a very expensive drone because he lost the signal when flying itemoticon-0179-headbang.gif

Would not recommend flying them in built up areas, I once flew mine in my back garden and

over the house roof, lost the signal and could not get it back down. Eventually I managed to regain control and land it. Never again in a built up area would I fly mine, too expensive to loss or have it stuck up in a tree or on a roofwacko.gif

Putting that all aside I love flying my drone and filming the scenery from high above.happy.gif

yes proves that they are a hazard to them then, but do you think a sparrow hawk or a kestrel would have the strength to damage a drone which are strong things, the one i have is quite solid and fair size

Would suggest they would be much better at dropping packages at required locations

believe they fly themselves back to take off location

bit along the lines of amazon

was up for feeding tonight, a fancier who has lost 6 birds from loft by bop, he is not on site so knows nothing about this thread, he was telling us the other day the bop was around above his loft his son came out with his drone and put it up, the bop was hoovering then slowly moved towards the drone, then turned round and away like a shot,
