ye need a dimmer Alan, if using lights in the winter the birds need to be able to get back to their perches or nest box. The BIRDROOM sell them.

 

 

The birdroom is the place I have had one 20yrs it failed 2yrs ago I opened it printed circuit shorted out sent it back fixed for £10 including carriage

 

Can't get better than that

Thanks for the info as I think mine may have that problem

had it for years it is the bees knees
