Seen George bairds photograph of his cracking yb and it got me thinking about a cheq hen that scored for my old man three this year and wondering if anyone else is doing well with natural young birds in these days of the darkness system?

Her results are as follows

1st club 4th section otterburn 1approx 80 miles

1st club 1st section Retford approx 220 miles

2nd club 2nd section otterburn 2 approx 80 miles

(Also timed her in the yb national..not in tickets but took some pool money)

Would like to add This post is for my own personal interests and replies would be most welcome as Id like to hear if anyone is doing well with the naturals

Had some early bred ones myself this year but had to chuck it so never got a chance to race the ybs but they all had a really good body moult and were looking the part in late June, would've liked to have seen how they raced the yb season

He certainly can pop up with great results. I remember when Gerry Mcfall was doing well in Low Waters club he said Alan was the danger man most weeks.

Well done Alan great results hope it goes on to be a decent auld bird.

Hi Kenny, last year I won the six yb races I entered in Greenfield club, all raced natural, two hens won two 1sts and one of these hens topped the Fed at Wetherby.

they also got 2 Fed cards as ybs their nestmates also picked up fed cards. Another nest pair did not score as ybs but one of them was my double Fed topper this year

and her nest mate also got a good fed pos. this year and they were never on darkness. The benefits of darkness I admit is far better but only as ybs.
