It doesn't matter where we go we get hit so why no go in a straight line which is the birds natural flight and why do we need to tie up with the snfc with a outdated transporter that's as old as the hills with bad ventilation and very very poor watering system and where the birds get fed on sh** of other birds when we have have our own state of the art transpoter

Last year we ended up with the national because of the shocker of the billericay race

Year before Carentan Shocker

Year before think they went to Carentan but come hame?

I jst don't think the members will support a fed race from across the water on our own

If everybody done ther wee bit which a few on here is doing it is an option john

That's ma point, not even 10% would take part. I thought it was a goer a couple of seasons back and stepped up tae the plate with my forfeits but only 2 other guys done it at that time and I don't see it changing any if we had another go. Horse and Water come tae mind. 😡

Davie, are you describing the Lanarkshire Fed transporter as state of the art. the birds are fed on carboard full of sh**. We were promised the birds would be fed

in inserts, we still haven't seen them yet.

Imo is it's state of the art compared to the snfc transpoter

That's not true Jim, the birds are fed from the troughs on their basket and watered after any excess feeding has been tipped out, that's on the one occasion per season when they are Fed on the transporter.

I don't like to contradict someone I respect but they are Not Fed on cardboard.

John,i assumed the water was put on the birds as soon as they arrived at the race point so in the case of a holdover the water would be emptied out of the troughs then fed

in the troughs then refilled with water ? would take a wee while to do this would it not.if you remember John the delegate meeting after the AGM when the Fed agreed to buy

the transporters I asked Gareth Rankin how would the birds be fed in the crates he replied inserts, where are these and does any body know what inserts actually are.

Posted

We don't have holdovers Jim and we only basket on a Thursday once a season. The races are either put back 24hrs or cancelled if it's looking terrible all weekend. Water would be in front of the birds on arrival, the troughs are upturned and the birds Fed in the troughs when dry, water goes back in front of them when they have eaten.

Jim, the drinkers I believe on your transporter are swivel drinkers. U just tip them to the side and it runs into a gutter. U could empty at least 20 drinkers a min imo. Then once u have emptied them all id assume your convoyer would start feeding them from one end to another. Once he had got to opposite end the first end would be finished there dinner and could repeat the process of fresh water again?? hope this helps

John, as I said we were told that the birds would be fed with inserts, everybody at that delegate meeting heard Gareths answer so 3 years down the line we still don't

have them why ? it must be a lot easier on the convoyers to feed the birds without emptying drinkers. last year the transporter come to pick up our birds

and saw sprouted grain in the water channels about 3 inches or more. Still don't agree with this rather antiquated system being used our supposedly 'state of the arts'

transporters.

The one race a year they use feed I think the metal drinkers emptied out to feed the pigeons is more than adequate...then the rest of the day water infront of them...can't see much wrong with that

you're right bud why send birds to the east so they have to fly a dog leg to the west,

just move tae glenmavis and you will do ok as for east or west it will be voted on race point by race point not by east or west but this could change by proposals put in at agm :emoticon-0136-giggle:

They were doing a dog leg before the race points were changed

how the *expletive removed* is it a dog leg when they fly straight up the centre of the country in old race points, the west sec, hardly gets a mention in the big races today and it ain't because the doos are not good enough,

Posted

Because they were I don't know wit ur wanting them changed for where u sit ur the first drop furthest flying so ur laughing just think off all ur 1rst next year ur the favorite for 1rst 5 average 😀

No quite accurate there Dunc, over the 5 seasons I have been doing the trophies the West Sec have By Far lifted most of the trophies and the channel race was won in the west in 2014&2015. Maybe no winning averages but they are putting up the best individual performances.

As I said in my first post on this subject the east-west debate every year is a pile o p*ss, only place that matters is the race program AGM and that's when guys way Racing pigeons can vote on their preferred race points with no mention of east or west line.

Yer more than welcome mate, plenty a fields over here,, save yer money come on over and see how you do... but with your present section and Fed record I'd up yer game first..

4 section wins in 35 races

0 Fed wins in 35 races

Sending the most doos per season.

West section winning 42% of all Fed races in that time.

You keep all your overfly you get

We will give you ours on top of it and Id still have beaen you this year...lol

Keep plugging away kid.
