greenbar Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 We had them at the door last year.won.t tell u what was said.they did get the song bird bit as well.
Valiant Fifer Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 100% spot on Ian they are exactly that. A Buisness and not a charity. Its time that Joe Public all relised that.
Roland Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 I usually say 'Donate! Not flippy likely ... I like birds ... so am sure I am not giving money to enhance you murdering them'1 Oft a shocked face, especially if a waited till there are few about, and then spout how £millions are raised... to no more than provide a s/h feeding table which the RSPB encourage!
daviedoo22 Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 They're conning joe public into believing that lack of habitat is the reason for the decline in the small bird population. I can remember as a little boy seeing hundreds of house sparrows around the town. Nowadays lucky if you see a dozen. If I'm not mistaken house sparrows nest in roof spaces and out buildings. Not much demolition work going on here in fact the town is expanding. I.e. More houses. Watching spring watch this year they had a camera on a sparrow hawks nest and that preek packman was actually studying what Mrs sparrow hawk had been eating. Robin, dunnock, great tit, etc then he said oh look at this one it's a blue tit and you can tell with the feathering that it's a fledgling maybe one from the blue tits nest box that we have a camera on. Fckn unreal. Nothing to do with lack of habitat it's what's in the habitat that's the problem.
Valiant Fifer Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 Ur right Daviedoo they keep on about habitatWhat a load of nonsense. If they all cared to look (joe public) then theyd see what lurks in there. If members of the public got out there and looked and maybe studied certain areas then they would clearly see a different picture than the one portrayed by tv programmes and the rspb. Cant see the woods for the trees springs to mind in every sense of the word. RSPB are a disgrace taking good money from the public and lying to them into the bagain. Their are some bird lovers out there no doubt but a large section of the rspb are only interested in protecting some species namely Birds of Prey!
Rainman Posted August 13, 2016 Report Posted August 13, 2016 This organisation should rename themselves rspbop coz its really all there interested in fact
