Novice Posted August 4, 2016 Report Share Posted August 4, 2016 Is there a logical reason why we don't race from Rennes any more?I didn't enter the Gold Cup race this year as , at 580 miles or there abouts I felt was almost as long as the longest race and one step too far for me. Anno it was way back when and everything about racing has moved on but the Ultimate prize needs to be a Test for both bird and Fancier alike. That's why it Has to be a minimum 500mls tae the Solway. So we should continue to throw away our best doos every year and run the race into the ground because of tradition? Tradition is failing the club John, you know that as well as anybody. The SNFC inland races have destroyed the Feds for its own preservation and to my mind the main reason fanciers are departing the sport.One just has to look at the last Rennes race flown and every subsequent gold cup to see we have lost the magic of the name Rennes which was and still is THE REAL GOLD CUP.
