Still not been given a credible reason why the Gold Cup race should be 500miles to the Solway and 550+ to the Central belt

Is there a logical reason why we don't race from Rennes any more?

I didn't enter the Gold Cup race this year as , at 580 miles or there abouts I felt was almost as long as the longest race and one step too far for me.

the so called logic reason was that they could not get in , or they could not get water ,yet other transporters get in ,how did they get in ?

Tradition Lewis, the club was built by men who aspired to win from a distance. Anno it was way back when and everything about racing has moved on but the Ultimate prize needs to be a Test for both bird and Fancier alike. That's why it Has to be a minimum 500mls tae the Solway.

Tradition is failing the club John, you know that as well as anybody. Look at the transportation that's been knocked backed for a start.

I do believe the logical reason was to hoodwink the members by the Committee because by moving to the East of France the Nat would save money crossing the channel, Dover - Calais versus Portsmouth - Cherburg at more than half the ferry price. The SNFC inland races have destroyed the Feds for its own preservation and to my mind the main reason fanciers are departing the sport.

One just has to look at the last Rennes race flown and every subsequent gold cup to see we have lost the magic of the name Rennes which was and still is THE REAL GOLD CUP.
