Mossgiel Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 I'm sure a gentleman in Perth a few years back sent with and English organisation to 700 or 800 miles is this correct? Was it not Gauld & Morrison of Crieff ??
Roland Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 Was in 1989 - if memory is correct, that Bilco Organised the 1000 mile race from Rome. Best bird home was a Busseart. 17 in allotted time, and many in later stages. ( of course many made it and Bilco said he'd never organise another. A club mate was one of the 17. Was a real hot days too.
geordie1234 Posted May 17, 2016 Author Report Posted May 17, 2016 No Roland this was in the last 5 years

paddymac Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 A lot of Georges birds came here to Derry in the N/west of Ireland and have already proved their worth on the racing scene, especially from the channel race points. I'm lucky to have a few pair of his old Bricoux family in my loft.

paddymac Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 What French points was he racing from? And Mileage? Not sure of his race points when he was racing in Scotland George, but his birds in a short space of time have been responsible for 1st Club Talbenny Yb Nat only bird on the day 240ml, 1st club Bude 309ml and 1st Club St Malo Ob Nat 500ml. All channel races and flying into one of the hardest routes in Europe into the N/west of Ireland and that is not counting how well they have done on the inland race points.

Kyleakin Lofts Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 I had two cocks from George Gauld. A son of one of them flew Thurso for me when I was just starting.George flew with the BICC and was on their result fairly high up. He used to visit his friend from Blackpool area to give them a training toss, usually single ups. I think it was Tours that he raced from, but this BICC race was very early in our season.
paddymac Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 I just acquired another pair of George Gauld pigeons from my friend Mik after a conversation about this thread tonight. :)
