greenlands Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 Installed windows 10 last week and must say once I found my way round it it was very good.(even the games were better)BUT and it's a BIG BUT,not all printers are compatible so be careful if you're considering upgrading.Wanted to print some stuff off last night for the club and there was no epson printer in devices and printers, checked microsoft site and as/usual NFG.Done all the ususal things like add a printer but no success. :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: Luckily roll back was easy and no problems so far,at least let's say the printer works. You have 30 days to use the roll back, after that you're goosed. Suppose I could have bought a compatible printer ?
buster151 Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 Is there no driver or updates on the epson site itself, I had mine from brother site for my printer when I changed to windows 10
greenlands Posted March 7, 2016 Author Report Posted March 7, 2016 Is there no driver or updates on the epson site itself, I had mine from brother site for my printer when I changed to windows 10Went on to epson site and it said driver should already be installed via.windows 7 same on microsoft site ?10 uninstalled the original printer and when I went to print (without checking devices etc.) it wanted me to save as pdf.that's when I realised the default printer was wrong/gone. :emoticon-0179-headbang:
Tony C Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 Anyone else had any problems with Windows 10, am thinking of switching over myself from Windows 7,Cheers.
Roland Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 It's good. Regards Printers not so good. H.p. Printers have a Help line and it does every thing for you so that's good... Brother don't for older versions! My Brother 123 Laser had the Geek out and set it up THREE TIMES... for as soon as it up dates (Does it automatically) it went Kapult! Bought a new one. A brother laser again lol. Think maybe, just maybe tha lase are harder, but see a lot of replies on help lines getting flumaust.P.s. if you change make sure you have written down ALL and Every password... none will be saved. I lost a few like Hotmail etc. and they won't help unless you know many addies that you have used recently. Saving them is good... makes you lazy I guess and as soon as you forget ... they are forgotten lol.

REDCHEQHEN Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 I accidentally installed Windows 10 last night (I hadn't used the computer for a few hours, and usually have to sign back in when I go to use it - I'm always leaving the computer on without any problems) when I went to the computer last night and clicked to get a desktop image - here's the Windows 10 saying updating!! Horror struck I was - and it took forever Anyway - I know people have had problems with printer drivers - but mine has printed fine this morning. The fact that it has printed is a miracle because I've been having problems with the printer feed and was considering buying a new printer - I have an Epson SX125 So all appears to be well - the desktop screen is exactly the same as the Windows 8.1, so I haven't really noticed any differences so far
greenlands Posted March 23, 2016 Author Report Posted March 23, 2016 Take it you found out how to shut it down Sue,took me a while ?
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 25, 2016 Report Posted March 25, 2016 Take it you found out how to shut it down Sue,took me a while ? You had to shut down from the start menu on Windows 8.1 - so just a slight difference. Having problems downloading photos from phone - seems you have to mess about with a live account getting this that and the other e-mailed over to download- not a happy bunny
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 25, 2016 Report Posted March 25, 2016 Found Windows 10 to be the best yet,it is great with photos and editing so very happy with it.
