Oh right I moved my loft much the same distance about 30year ago and before I moved it I took the cocks to the new location and let them go in the garden where the loft was going to be positioned I done this about three or four times and when I tried to break them to the new location they all broke with no problems, I never done this with the hens and I had lots of problems with them.

I HAVE 8 SPARE birds in young bird section so put them out 2 week back broke all but 2 so went back to old loft position 3 days later put a basket down with feed in it and gave a shout, shooty in down they came in to basket and 2 days later put them out and never left again, im expecting over the next couple of days to get a few back as there on eggs,

Can't get that let them all out ,pigeons are gregarious ,(like company) so breaking one at a time is far better . You can break 2/3a day no prob see ,except the stubborn ones usually hens ,just like women .

Spot on there stuart. Agree with everything you said there m8

especially the very last bit lol!

Stuart if it was me I would have had the broken ones out each day and let one out with them would be back at new location in no time following others , I've seen it on here a few times guys just opening loft and letting everything out ,nuts IMHO .

they were a dozen out that were broken the day i let them all out, and only 3 or 4 birds took to the wing at any one time, i was not catching up 30 pair of birds every day to put in nest boxes to let out 2 birds a day expletive remove you think i dont work, the birds that went to the old premises were struck with a sharpwing and will not return through that valley

Ok everyone has an opinion , I did it the way I said ,oh and I work 6/7 days a week , I broke mine two weeks before the first old bird race and still won the federation old bird average . That year . I think if you had even let out 4/5 birds a day over weekend that would have been 8/10 then the same each weekend , not long before they were all broke with very few on roofs for nights at a time . Again jmho . Good luck getting them back and in , cheers Stuart .
