Novice Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 Have a pair that we would like to try robert. That's the beauty of a syndicate I suppose loads of optionsSyndicate is the best way forward I think. I'm not bothered where the birds come from just as long as they are good. The Germans are the masters but I don't think they send them till they have been flying round the loft for weeks.

I always imagined you sent them as squeakers lol
Novice Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 I have no idea why they do it or if they treat them for everything under the sun before sending them. I read it somewhere. Maybe someone else can enlighten us. The factor which allows them to do this is that the new and old lofts are hundreds of miles apart. Perhaps older youngsters travel better.I know no more than that and would like someone to enlighten me as well.
dal2 Posted September 26, 2015 Author Report Posted September 26, 2015 I can see the benifits of the youngsters not going backwards in first 30 days but surely the new loft must confuse them if they have been on the wing?......already sounding more complicated than just sending yer best lol

I was only repeating what I believe to be what they do. It may have been in a video about Helmut Klass but I am not sure. He also recommended not sending any with white flights to South Africa for some reason. Maybe all the fighters in his family are duds.
dal2 Posted September 26, 2015 Author Report Posted September 26, 2015 I did read that reds, meal is and pied were a no no at the south African race. I was thinking of starting with a lower mark......perhaps the rpra if it was well run?

However, there are better informed guys than me but none have had an input yet.
geordie1234 Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 I know guys that send pigeons that have completed the programme as ybs in the UK then go to Derby arona....apparently the yb that won last year had already flew at a olr that year

buster151 Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 From what I have read the North Coast Classic looks good
ally mac Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 Would definitely be interested in a syndicate. Been thinking about it myself to extend my racing season 😃
Kyleakin Lofts Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 I have taken part in the Pixels OLR for a few years and I definitely think that the OLR management plays an enormous part in the success or failure. Having said that, some areas are more testing than others to fly into and some programmes are similarly more testing. It is not always the case the more testing situations guarantee greater cash winning opportunities, so research is vital and the overall aims of the syndicate or individual must be the primary concern. Good luck in your venture.
paddymac Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 From what I have read the North Coast Classic looks goodNCC is one of the best and run well by Sean Diamond and his team of trusty helpers. Always a great bit of banter and craic at the loft each weekend during the races.
paddymac Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 How does that work robert? I always imagined you sent them as squeakers lolMost of the OLR take the Ybs at the weaning stage to settle them quicker to their new surroundings.
Wiley Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 Ad shaerlackens once wrote the germans secret was sending 3 month old babies over, i always thought took some believing until i saw Roger Martens result when he had a bird fly in one one loft race, and then sent it to another to then become the overal winner.
