Delboy Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Paying up front as always been good for the big team fanciers, but for anyone with only a few birds or one that sends in only a few races it makes it very expensive. I agree with you but clubs wouldn't survive with these types of fanciers.Nothings good for the big team fancier, costs of more feed, more meds, more birdage etc etc, also these fanciers are subsidising clubs with going every week and sending more. Ive always went to every race in the fed programme ( when part of a fed )even with a small team of birds but now I carry a lot more birds as I send to every national as well and the expense is unreal. Back to 12-15 pair for me I think.

philg50 Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 I here people saying paying up front is good for the mob flyer ,and what about the lad that just sends a few only entering a few races in a year well that describes me i only race a few races and yes i would pay a bit more birdage especially if the rules made it you can send any amount you like but only 5 can be entered in race ,how about the five entered £1 a bird the remainder 35p each to the fed ,at least you would be entering the race on even odds.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Our club charge 70p per bird [some of which goes to prize money ]plus 50p per clock plus £1 for transporter :animatedpigeons: But try tellin the DVLA / Insurance company / Driver we cannot pay full price as a lot of members are not sending Hon / Fuel servicing / Mot / and all other costs do not get reduced because you are not sending the total bill for racing must be paid at the end of the day or you go bust If I were to join a golfr club and only play 3/4 rounds a year do you think I will get cheaper fees? I could go on and on why change the habit of a lifetime Ian
paddymac Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Our club races with NIPA are 50p a bird inland, and it depends on the birdage when going to the channel so the crates charges are covered. NIMR is 25p a bird for all inland races except for the gold ring race that cost £5 to activate the ring.
Guest stb- Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Aberdeen Fed charge £130 per loft and ALL birds are included for all Fed races It's brilliant Fed get all fees in at the start of year If they include SNFC races in the averages they are included in you Fed fee We don't charge for clock setting We have plenty room if you want to move :emoticon-0136-giggle:glasgow fed is very similar £110 and that includes some training at start of old and yb season plus as many birds as you want all season in federation races .
Guest stb- Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 But try tellin the DVLA / Insurance company / Driver we cannot pay full price as a lot of members are not sending Hon / Fuel servicing / Mot / and all other costs do not get reduced because you are not sending the total bill for racing must be paid at the end of the day or you go bust If I were to join a golfr club and only play 3/4 rounds a year do you think I will get cheaper fees? I could go on and ongolf clubs here advertising the memberships for £75 a year now no 5 year waiting list and no £800 a year fees sign of the times, very few young uns in it now . At one time they would harldy let the young ones on the courses now there begging but they have other entertainments now

W.D. Posted August 1, 2015 Report Posted August 1, 2015 70p in the club, 50p of which goes to the Fed, and 20p for prize money. Trainers are 70p also with the 20p going to club funds.Clocks £1 and Nom £1 on top of that.My Dad flies in NW Fed, think he pays 35p a bird, which I think is very good compared to others.
blue pied Posted August 1, 2015 Report Posted August 1, 2015 at 47p per bird for the fed 3p for the club makes it 50p per bird and £1 to words the transporter no wonder you wont get any young person into the sport an avereg young fancer would half to find £55 a week pools fedding traning thats £220 a month thay have no chanch add on the nationals or open races and you wonder y its a dying sport it would be cheeper to buy a crait a week wich is £11 but clubs wont let you pout all your doos in the 1 basket and stimulat 28 birds per basket wots your thoughts and i doo mean 2 or 3 basket to spred your birds aboutwhat is money when it's a sport you love?
