saftey in numbers maybe aint the answer hawks can see them for miles you had lanarkshire fed trailer there and everybody but there granny following it to lib with them cant understand the logic in that cant be cheaper than going in the fed transporter the transporter that they go in every week to race need to all club together with late breed program

East Lothian is like most areas the Percy have it covered , cockenzie has a pair on the power station so not a great choice for training , the brother stays in longniddry and is over run by Percy plus Haddington has 2 pair I believe ,all on the line from Dunbar , I went with the Airdrie van to Peebles on wed and dropped 3 yearling cocks and 2 two year olds that have been to Charnock Richard so does it really matter .

i agree with gareth im just p d because i should have known better but the amount of injured birds from the toss is ott but i also think why train from a place the birds will never be unless they are lost if they ever do see that area there beat peebles kelso otterburn even but ill never be back at dunbar even when we were having good races from there with the mid week i thought we were teaching our birds bad habits by learning them to break farther and farther east when to win we need our birds to fight for the middle but like i say its jmo

dont agree with that walter pigeons know how to come home and will take the most direct route if they can , dosent matter where you train from the object is to get them fit and use there heads . I know of a top national fancier who won rennes etc and there birds were trained where the brother worked and the year they won rennes he just happend to be working in dunnon the doos were tossed there for weeks and there rennes winner certainly didiny go to dunon afore it was clocked and 9.15 pm on day of lib . lol

As for dunbar we have raced it with old and young birds for years and we were just saying at club from dunbar no one rembers loosing birds there training or racing but when we go to st boaswell bit further south we get some right doings and its a few miles less in distance .

I got a scelping at peebles last week with lanarkshire and was going to go with them to dunbar but when i went to basket the birds at 7am it was that cold with that east wind i said ill just leave them . Got told glasgow were going to cockenzie so sent them at 11 am and libbed abut 1pm was much plesenter heat wise then .

many with birds missing and birds injured i myself have two good yealing hens missing and two hawked from 24 sent first bird 201 then birds coming all day up to 8 15 last night who needs training like that ill not be back at dunbar glad i only sent yearlings just taking the goodness out the birds imo

Hi Walter just had a look at this thread . Don't know if I'm away off the mark but I see you only sent half you're yearlings and none of you're old birds. Just as we used to talk about training two or three years I think you half expected trouble :emoticon-0138-thinking:

i remember as young lad going with john mc fall to give jimmy wands of wands and mc cardle newmains a write up a great flyer in fed and national when john asked him how he trained his national birds we both almost fell off the chair when he said i train them with the wind at there tail in all directions when john asked why he said it puts speed into them so there ye go totally against the train of thought but a great flyer never the less and it worked for him

Agree about line of flight and bad habits but fanciers have indicated that they wanted 1 good fly midweek from a distance further than peebles, which is great for pigeons that might have been off the road for a week or two, Dunbar is suppose to be saffer than Hawick and Locharbriggs etc Time will tell as the BOP's are everywhere.

keep your manky transporter out of dunbar just destroying another good training spot BOP are not stupid if thare getting fed every wed thay wil be thare waiting with a knife and fork whe have raced out of dunbar every tues for years with verey if any bad reports i no this sounds as if am contradicting my self but the lanarkshire fed traning is just drawing BOP to them with the amount of birds thare liberating toghether with the hang ons who go with them and doos not seing that side of the country is bull sh** the yb where comeing out of that corner the first 4 races last year with the nw winds stay over the peebles end and dont go to the same spot and time every week and youl be ok
