Roland Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 Have to say it looks the part. Bears great merit and I would have no hesitation to buy such a piece if of local, or English. Can't see - for a moment - that the Scots would / will allow that to happen, and rightly so. Good luck to the new 'Proud' owner.
W.D. Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 Thanks for putting this up, just been on the phone to my Dad and he is going to get in touch with some of the family to see if they are interested in getting it back? Think they put a trophy into the Doo Club which they called the Flora McDonald Cup in honour of their win. The Anderson Bros lived in Shieldhill near Falkirk, don't know much else about them apart from being told they had won the National. I suppose it being the last National before the Second World War started meant that there would have been no more racing before it came to an end?Would be good to know if the Bros went off to War as so many others did and if they survived to continue racing after the War ended?
