I wonder if there would be any interest in this sort of thing? interviews with top fanciers on a monthly basis? Years ago we had a pigeon radio station in America, and personally was a big fan of it, would something similar work?

why not try it , with a link on site here . see what sort of feedback and reviews you get ?? :pidge:

It's getting the equipment together Andy, that isn't cheap, if it was going to be a one off thing it would be a waste of time and money, as the basic podcast equipment I've seen is around £170

would expect more than 1 "shot" at it pal .

Get hold of someone like GEM to sponsor you and plug their wares.

sponsership , that could be the way to go , great idea Tony :emoticon-0137-clapping:

Super idea, but a lot of travel to cover the top fanciers on a monthly basis. You would also require a network of reporters and perhaps a few set ups or at least after building up some podcasts, move the equipment to the next reporter area.

To ensure continuity you would also need your build up of podcasts to give you the required safety buffer.

None of these problems are insurmountable, so I hope the idea lifts off. :)

Could you not do a voice call on Skype, record it and post it as a link? I don't know if what I'm suggesting is possible, someone on the site will be more technically minded than me so could give an answer.

Hi Jim

It would be a similar sort of thing but in a podcast format, all interview would be done over the phone so no equipment or extra reporters would be needed if it took off the ground, this is how pigeon radio took off.

I'll pay for a years advertising on here if you get it up and running.

thats very nice of ya mucker, I'm going to take a look into it and to try and fathom out how it all works before I can say I'll give it a go. But your offer would be very much appreciated

Audacity software is popular I believe for beginners. I could have a mixer lying about and probs a decent mic if you got to that stage

Wiley, I'm sure that there would be apps available that would allow you to record a telephone call, if you intend doing telephone interviews.

Is it then just a matter of saving the resultant mp3 to a podcast site and providing a link?

I'm not too sure of what the quality would be but it may be worth while testing this as it probably would be the cheapest method.

A great idea Ryan, I'd say there would be quite a good interest if it was up and running. Cracking offer Tony well done :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:
