Wiley Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 I only exercise old birds once a day, I used to feed once a day, but found the birds never exercised liked they should have as come 24hours they was hungry and that's all the birds thought about. I now still exercise only once a day, however my birds are fed twice, because they exercise of an evening they have a large breakfast, so when exercise time is due they fly with vigour. After exercise they receive a smaller portion. Young birds I train at least 3 days a week and are only fed once a day straight after training.
paddymac Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 I only feed once a day now during the winter months as the birds are resting and during the racing season they are fed twice a day.
Kyleakin Lofts Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 Once a day just now, but twice a day or more during the racing season.
neila Posted December 6, 2014 Author Report Posted December 6, 2014 Would that be feed once a day & exercise once a day? yes Tony , I have few problems with neighbours so I only have the birds out once due to flying cocks and hens parted and ybs so I have 3 lots to get out so dare not risk the birds going out twice or it will be a problem with the neighbour

Best of luck.

ALF Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 Our birds for the 1st winter ever are out everyday (don't know if we are doing the right thing or not??? ) but they are fed a soup can full of barley after they have finished exercising then get 2 soup cans full of of winter mix between 26 birds and fly between 40-60 mins everyday
