For 9 quid... more spent on beer.. coupons... if yer doos that are kept 365 days a year aint worth a 9 qiid bet.... ??? SYou want to attract young guys to the sport this is the way.We now especially in this generation live in a gambling frenzy... look at what its done for dartsSnooker...etc. Btw its got everything for distance guys as well... big pools built up with the money left over each week... for longest inland and ypres.. Fed could also be making money out it....Win win for all in my opinion
walterboswell59 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 There isny fed pools everyweek tho is there?guys aint got the money to pool in club and fed every week george even the guys that are working no one likes a punt more than me m8 and we have great pools in our club but its falling away a bit now to many old guys oap and guys not working in every club now one thing i learned early on with pooling is club first then section as thats who you need to beat first then the open if you realy fancy your bird dont think you would get the support for a weekly fed pool thats all but id be in it if i have the money and even sometimes when i dont lol but i try to put money away every week for my gamble in the national races but im a heavy punter in fed to you will know by your own club most will not put 2 pounds on an all pooler never mined 9 pound a week plus club

Paul Mac 31 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 We need to be lookn at the big picture her walter....not just what this section has or this club has..Why are guys now sending more and more too one loft races.. to test ur birds and big prize money.. simple as that.. ov now seen non fanciers doin it...The sport needs a shake up or it will die with the older generation that ir mentioning..Years gone by I remember the stories of coatbridge premier where guys culd win more than theyr weeks wage... with a pooler.. Clubs are dyin away ... its the only logical way foward.. harder to get sponsorship for prize money for big races.. this would create that.We must remember this is Lanarkshire Fed... not National.. so keep money for that has nothing to do with Lanarkshire. Thats not a dig mate... but we've got to look at bringin the sport alive again...

I was sittn nxt to Jim Hannah.. nothing against Jim get on well with him.....he voted against it when his sec already had it... I was scratching my head.Im talkn about on a larger scale... each section then have something to fly for.... regardless of if I send 40 u send 20... its 4 noms vs 4 noms I think I speak for a larger number who would agree ..if ur not winning the race..the next best thing is gettn a lift...

I honest cant see a negative here..
JohnS Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 The Federation could run a accumulator done in sections, you could select 1 bird a week for 2 or 3 pounds maybe even a fiver and to win the pool you need to win your section with that bird, if no one wins it it then carries on to the following week, come the last old bird then last young bird race if no one has won it on these two races it then changes to first nominated pigeon that wins the rolled over money. This could also be done in the Open too with the same rules for maybe 1 or 2 pounds a week too. This can only be good and it would be great buzz and a good lift for someone who did win it.

All these ideas can only be good and as someone else says no one should be able to vote against it because you odnt have to enter if you dont agree with it
Paul Mac 31 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Lanarkshire Fed .... maybe the biggest Fed in Britain... one of the biggest in EuropeHas very little or no prize money available.....?Its down to the members to create the funds through pools..Iv never met a pigeon fancier yet that doesn't like a punt on his birds... the way it is structured in Georges post is - Fair for every Section- a money spinner for the Fed- option to pool ur pigeons any week u want- creates prize money for the big races- gives fanciers another insensitive I.e if ur not topping the Fed or Sec getting ur Nom
