Guest IB Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I am on the SNFC Committee and have NEVER seen this letter where did you get it from. Ian, copies of the letter were handed out by the writer to the Special meeting of 19/8/07 (date could be wrong?). I couldn’t get there, and I asked for information on that meeting on here. One of the members who did attend gave me a copy. The thread on which I made the enquiry can be viewed at: http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1187556012/s-0/ There has been NO investigation allowed by the Committee Ian, even Gareth acknowledges an investigation, though he wasn’t happy in the way it was conducted. A letter signed by Andrew Garven (posted on here by the Webmaster on 9/8/07) also states ‘the matter has been investigated’. The actual post is on http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1186601899/s-2/highlight-investigation/#num2 SNFC letter as posted to me: Quoted Text 30th July 2007 To: All members of SNFC Dear Member, A letter has been received from *SNFC members name removed*. The matter has been investigated by the officials who feel there is no case to answer. *SNFC members name removed* has been informed of the decision and his right to proceed further under the rules of the SNFC. It is our belief that this matter raised by *SNFC members name removed* is now subject of a police investigation. Andrew Garven I hope this answers your questions, Ian.
jimmy white Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 is it time for change at the top for snfc come the agm? this is the topic
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Perhaps I should refresh your memory on my position : Nobody has the right to say a person has been dishonest on the strength of rumours alone. Yet rumours is exactly what the request for an official investigation was based on:- Rumours that had been gaining momentum for 3 years and even to the extent that his birds were readily identifiable compare to his fellow competitors within the baskets because of substances/marks on his birds. I think you will find that you are the only one in the sport who would allow these rumours to fester instead of hitting it on the head and dealing with it which if left unturned damages the SNFC in more ways than one. IB It still amazes me that even after you members of your own federation carried out there own investigation on him this year you are still on this site promoting and protecting him. Thank the lord the vast majority dont live in IB'S world.

PATTY BHOY Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 All this nonsence will not appeal to new fanciers wanting to start pigeon racing here in Scotland
naedoos Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 No I mentioned integrity and that is exactly what the club I am a member of has in abundance. It also has a great deal of additional merits which I will detail if you like. But let's start with harmony. I don't see a great deal of harmony in the other club based on the posts by it's members on this thread. If I were to feel as strongly as some of the posters on this thread obviously do then I would be seeking an alternative. Note----I resigned from the SNFC as a fully paid up member before the split because I was unhappy with the club management. Well done to you for leaving the club in the proper manner in that case. You are probably not far off the mark at this moment in time regarding harmony, but I'm fairly sure with the honesty, experience and the will to see the geatest club in the country become even greater through the hard work and effort put in by the majority of the remaining members, this I am sure will be remedied in the near future. And yes I would love to see details of your additional merits

DOVEScot Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 All this nonsence will not appeal to new fanciers wanting to start pigeon racing here in Scotland No it won't, but being one of them, surely if the problems were sorted out once and for all if ay all possible then any new fanciers would benefit Billy is leaving it up to me what way we go and basically have decided to join the SHU in the mean time. Even if there was only one there would still be some sort of arguments as there is in all sports and walks of life :-/
Delboy Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 well lads who do think would be fit the jobs at the top President - Tam McEwan, Elphinstone Senior Vice President - Ian Henderson, Newmains Junior Vice President - Gareth Rankin

Delboy Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 great choice, very competent pro, as proved in the past, and all that he does for the sport. I agree, the PRO should be chosen at AGM and not at Management Committee meeting
frank-123 Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 he(jim) was sitting very close to the judge
alex wight Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 I agree, the PRO should be chosen at AGM and not at Management Committee meeting Hear hear mate, a few changes all round are required i/we feel. i,d still like to see a postal vote on the proposals, so that the members who cant attend the agm for one reason or another. That way at least the whole membership gets a chance to vote.
robbiedoo. Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 a postal vote would be the fairest way because it is the whole of scotland we are speaking about. Some of the older and not so able fanciers would have their say aswell. Many fanciers up north are older and not able for a 6hour round trip to the AGM .This way everyone can have their say.

Guest 67ghirl Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 President - Tam McEwan, Elphinstone Senior Vice President - Ian Henderson, Newmains Junior Vice President - Gareth Rankin PRO Joe Murphy, commitee Derek and George. Agree with all of the above. But Derek you will need to console Eggy that he's been ousted (not outed) already! (evil)(evil)
Guest IB Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I did post to an SHU thread a good while ago that I thought the election system for key Management posts could be improved. I thought then and still believe that election to President, vice-President etc should be based on the UK Government election / Trades Union Executive models, where candidates prepare a brief of their management experience & expertise and set out their proposed agenda for possible improvements to the union / society / classic club, if they are elected. To ensure that it is the grass roots that are electing individuals into these key posts, ballot papers with all nominations and their candidate profiles are posted out to all members. And the completed ballot papers come back to an independent body for count, e.g. the Electoral Reform Society. Whoever gets elected also gets a mandate for proposed reforms from the grass roots. I see it being ideal for SNFC. No cliques, no in-fighting, just pure election on the strength of what you say you can and will do, and re-election next time round on the same basis, re-election success determined (probably) on your achievement at reform proving that your given word is your bond..
