PIGEON_MAN Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 hi anyone tell me if u have to be a member of a club / organisation to be secretary of a pigeon club? Not sure on SHU rules but have known non pigeon people be secs,of clubs in the RPRA,without checking through the rules not sure if they would have to be a club member.
Fife_pigeon_wife Posted April 11, 2009 Author Report Posted April 11, 2009 thanks 4 the replies, i was just double checking that what i was told was correct.
WELSH WIZARD Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 You do not need to be a member of a club or organisation to be a sec and there are no shu rules to say any differant.
THE FIFER Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 SHU club rules IE the management of the club shall be vested in the committee of management, which shall consist of a minimum of five members INCLUDING, PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, and SECRETARY and TREASURER, so you must have the secretary as part of the management commitee, so i would say a secretary would have to be a member, if they are on the management committee,
breakaway Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 THICK SKIN NEEDED and the ability to read/write and do as your told ??????????? lol
Roland Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 SHU club rules IE the management of the club shall be vested in the committee of management, which shall consist of a minimum of five members INCLUDING, PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, and SECRETARY and TREASURER, so you must have the secretary as part of the management commitee, so i would say a secretary would have to be a member, if they are on the management committee, Don't think that.... but if that was a bone of contention, then a Honoury membership for a £1 a year - paid by club - would more than suffice.
doo Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 hi anyone tell me if u have to be a member of a club / organisation to be secretary of a pigeon club? no you do not have to be a member
ALF Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 no you do not have to be a member But it's better if you are then if there is any dispute about anything within the fed you can go to the meetings and have your say and vote
THE FIFER Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 But it's better if you are then if there is any dispute about anything within the fed you can go to the meetings and have your say and vote but alf as above the secretary is part of the management committee, "the management committee will consist of at leased 5 members including CHAIRMAN, VICE CHAIRMAN, and SECRETARY and TREASURER,
ALF Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 In the Lanarkshire fed your secretary has to be a member of the fed wether he/she is/or is'nt a club member
THE FIFER Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 In the Lanarkshire fed your secretary has to be a member of the fed wether he/she is/or is'nt a club member how can you be a member of the fed without being a member of a club, there is no individual members of a fed, its clubs which are members, and you are through the club, and to be a member of a club you must be a member of the SHU, your fed and union fees are paid by the club to them , the club is responcible for collecting the fees, and the club put in the list of their members to fed and shu, a member doesnt resign or join a fed they join a club and through the club they are afiliated to the fed, you can jion the shu as a individual member but not a fed,
THE FIFER Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 Don't think that.... but if that was a bone of contention, then a Honoury membership for a £1 a year - paid by club - would more than suffice. SHU club rule 6 "The Annual Subscription to be the same for all members "
pjc Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 sec doesn't have to be a member but if they aren't and there is any dispute the club would not get assistance from the union or be able to deal with them as non members.
naedoos Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 but alf as above the secretary is part of the management committee, "the management committee will consist of at leased 5 members including CHAIRMAN, VICE CHAIRMAN, and SECRETARY and TREASURER, Hi Archie, the way I read this, is the there must be 5 members in your management committee but not neccesarily club members. Think this rule is to point out the number of people your committee should consist of rather than club members. Confused m'sell now ;D ;D ;D

Confused m'sell now ;D ;D ;D 5 MEMBERS, not 5 people, what is a MEMBER, its different for a secretary with the SHU who can be a non member, but their rule says "The council shall be composed of the office bearers OTHER THAN THE SECRETARY, so the secretary doesnt have to be ab official of the shu, but the secretary of a club is an official, with the SHU the secretary is an employee,
Guest numpty01 Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 a member is of a club a club is member of fed a fed is member of union a union is member of confederation unless youer rpra who keep chucking toys out and keep leaveing it no member can be single member of fed only union but i have to admit some feds are doing this part ????
kirky Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 under rpra rule you dont have to be a member, but club must pay your rpra region fee.
