Good doos and good management will beat doped doos all day long simples

Good doos and good management with Drugs added in, will beat a good doos and good fancier Ricky. There lies the problem.

Probably right John in the short term but imo its most likely green monster syndrome if a top man gets the chap at the door to test his doos it's most likely someone he's beating every week that's sent them to the door fortunately I'll never need to worry about me getting the chap on the door lol

dope can only work on a pigeons performance, if they are basket-ed on the same day of the race or within 4 hours, and the race is from about 60 mile, but steroids can be found in there constitution for 8 monthsemoticon-0138-thinking.gif

any drug with a pain relief is totally banned but can only be taken from a bird when in the basket before the event, not after the event, as it cant be proven where the birds was during its flight .emoticon-0138-thinking.gif and what it ate in the transporter or on its route for home unless the guys taking samples are at the loft when the bird got

clocked. just as they do before and after any horse race, or dog race, or athletics race this has to be done there and then, taken poo from a basket tells you nothing, take the bird from a basket and hold it in a sterile environment, and then a blood sample can be had but should the bird be able to race after blood sample i do not think so.

now then here wee go how many clubs in our fed test the winers

and does the fed test the winers is it to much hassel and money to do so i thik the size of our fed wee should test the first 20 and clubs test the 1st 3 just to make sure wee are keeping the sport real thare are to many medication members are giveing not knowing its a band substance wots your thoughts

Why don't you put a proposal in for the agm, your idea of first 20 x 20 races would give the fed a bill of 36,000. :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

All for testing myself as Lanarkshire is the biggest fed in UK.

The money would be better spent on other things ie stopping our birds getting destroyed cause the way it is going they'll be no birds left to drug IMO

Posted

Personally id welcome it if the funds were available... i know that the fed have been givin an open invitation to test our doos 365 days a year for numerous seasons...

like everything it would take some organizing...but would be another step foward for the fed

yes quite sad John they aint been having a good time of it from around the solway areas

Absolutely nothing to do with the past racing whatsoever.

The lack of entries is complex but mainly dummies spat out because decisions at AGMs did not suit. There are many fanciers who have not flown a pigeon yet this young bird season which I am sure is due the above, Young Bird Sickness and the fact that the race programme repeats itself from race 4 to 6 with a longer race for race 7 (race 4 and 5 have been modified to more easterly race points to suit some fanciers).

To those fanciers who have sought convoying elsewhere I hope there is still an Ayrshire federation which they can compete with in future should they decide to do so.

For any fancier who wishes to compete at National level with either organisation their birds need to race a westerly route into Ayrshire. If they fly up the east coast route and turn west at the borders I am afraid they will not make the result even though they may have outraced the winner.

your wrong robert the fed got it tight with the old birds down in that area thats why guys are feart to send their young birds like your self only sending the "sh**" your words and the guys that did send got hammered at the first two young bird races am all for the west route but we need to stay clear of that area this season has proved it ill never send into that area again as fo wanting to compete at national level you just need good doos as theirs no good channel doos in our fed at moment hopefully thatll change

very true robert but a lot of birds go that way anyway for self protection even when i train from crawford area my birds still come back from the east or north east they prefer to .go round it rather than through it nowadays they know whats in there . I would hate to live in ayrshire and have to race there. the returns from your 1st 2 races were soul destroying and unsustainable

Maybe I didn't express myself very well but the returns at the first 2 races can only be 10% of the feds total ring allocation.

There are birds remaining which have not been raced. You will remember that I qualified the term sh** by saying it was the birds which did not conform to what I felt they should be--wrong colour---wrong size or whatever. It is foolish to commit a full team to the first few races.

The race programme was designed to allow later youngsters to be brought in but unfortunately it has allowed flexibility which has worked against the federation.

Yes we need to stay clear of the SW Scotland area. We have tried it a few times with the same outcome. Perhaps that is why Lanarkshire have gone east before returning to a westerly route.

National level also means inland but the birds will never achieve their true positions till they fly in a direct route.

Cree and Cuthbert's pigeon must have taken a direct route at Maidstone and that is what we must strive for.
