frank-123 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Happened to Billy Gordon with the bricon system. His birds were not registering. One of his birds never registered which cost him a ticket out of Ypres. I had a faulty unikon pad I sprayed it with wd40 I gave my unikon system to Davie Hannah and Gordon Cook and it hasn't failed once this season. People need to learn ETS is not bullet proof. Get a clock set as back up for the big races.
geordie1234 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Put rings on my ybs and clocked all from training next day went to the club to mark them one wouldn't scan
Delboy Posted July 31, 2014 Author Report Posted July 31, 2014 I maintain the system Frank, all my points and connections are wd40 every year and then sealed with tape.Ive had the ets since 2001 so know the script.

I know you do Derek I heard of some dodgy rings toGerry Mcfall had a couple fail. The pad I was talking about I split the pad and sprayed inside to take the moisture out. Jim Hannah told me to do that.

square_peg Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 if pad has a split in it ..dry it out ..then seal it up with a bit of silicone rubber which will stay flexible when weather changes

Guest big50cal Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 I had over ten ring like this and they would not refund me it's sh**
WulDon Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 technology will always fail at some point, from the many 1000's systems used by UK fanciers and the 100,000's rings used every year I think there strike rate cant be bad! I always face the black chip downwards and have only found the odd one 'clogged' with $hit sometimes wont register, but hey ho that's life... even a brand new car or boiler still under warranty can fail at some point! I certainly wouldn't be trading it in or ripping it off the wall and replacing due to some minor fault!!!
walterboswell59 Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 i had two or three not register from the fed toss yesterday again was thinking its because to many birds on the pad at same time not picking them all up but thats not the case with dells took 12 back to shu 4 years ago still not had any word from them ill have to swipe mine one at a time to check them as there all reg at club marking
Roland Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 Well one has to make a choice ... For certain Unikon won't help a jot. Their after sales, as most now know to their horror, are none existent. Mind have seen - after a few days, where Unikon was taking a lot of flack on a pigeon site where they actually helped!
William Reid Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 Bricon After sales care is top class. :P
Guest Hey Presto Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 Think a lot of people need to be educated on the system had no bother on all the years we have had it about 8 or 9 and I run the ets for the club
