Let all my young birds out yesterday (25) at 1200 they disappeared for hours some came back late lastnight, 1 was there this morn, looks like my first season is over before its begun, gutted is putting it mildly.

Hopefully more work back Gav but a word of caution, although too late, never let them out on a Saturday when there are birds racing

I never let youngsters out on a Saturday and never early in the day when they are up and flying well.

My rule is that when my youngsters start to show an interest in roaming I get them into a crate and up the road.

In my past I have lost young pigeons like most people and it always seems to be the best ones so I don't take the risk any more.

Never let young birds out the morning after a race,as well as race day,especially if it's been a bad race.

Had my young uns out today for there 3rd time and the old percy appeared and lifted them all of the loft up they went into the heavens circling round the percy they it had go and scattered em all over the place only 37 missing since this morning now

you made a comment about yesterday being a acoustic day, maybe this had something to do with GAVS birds going A.wall and it been a bad day for racing

aye when we were waiting on the doos in the garden when we were talking the sound was echoing all over the place and if you banged somthing it sounded like you were in a tin hut with the noise funny atmosphere when its like that ,apart from that was lovely day and warm

Funny thing happened to us bob,my brother was playing bowls at the club when we were waiting for the Newark birds and I could hear him talking from the dookit,that was the first time we have heard the bowlers in 40 odd years,they are at least half a mile away as the doo flies.

yes strange when its like that sounds seems to carry and echo , maby affects the birds orientation as well ?
