gulkie Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 I had it from a good source that the RSPB released a pair of goss hawks in 2011 at the site of the perchy pond in Lanarkshire that year I lost 7 birds before the racing started saw a couple of attacks take place but to far away to say what they we're.I believe this year will be one of the worst as we have not had a hard enough winter to kill some of them of.
TheHigg Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 FKN SCAREY THATS YOURE BACK GARDEN MATE :emoticon-0138-thinking:
walterboswell59 Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 i have been saying for months that we have a big problem wull as im seeing them everywhere i go all the guys that have been keeping there birds locked up for the winter and not locking a couple out that they can afford to lose are in for a shock by doing nothing the problem has and will keep getting worse and only a few are trying to do anything about it but as long as we are few we will not have any impact together we could sort the problem we need to stop burrying or heads in the sand or our sport is finnished
Walter swanston Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 I lost a good racing hen today to a peregrine. I know that living in Moffat you just have to grin and bear it but it is hard not to become discouraged at this game.As far as protective legislation goes anyone who thinks it wil ever happen in Scotland is living in a dream world.
walterboswell59 Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 just wait till the training starts walt its going to be a nightmare m8

cemetary Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 WRONG Same old story rises its ugly head at this time ower the year, what have people done to help themselves once again, NOWT. Del your right.
knoxjn Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 was at a pigeon panel a few weeks back one of the guys told us that if the peregrine is having a bad nest they replenish the nest with young from the people that breed them in aviaries so that takes nature right out of it and we should be able to do something about them but I agree think its already too late
Walter swanston Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 WRONG I am talking about legislation against predators attacking racing pigeons,I do not think it is gonna happen
