buster151 Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 last week or so I've noticed when I go in loft to scrape out I get like an acid burning on my tongue, its only in one part of the tongue and only goes away when im in bed then back next day with scraping, I use a fp2 rated mask sometimes 2/3 at a time
Kyleakin Lofts Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 I'll take a guess. Loft a wee bit damp, given time of year, and ammonia from excreta in the air. Your mask would stop dust, but perhaps not fumes.
cemetary Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 You have the wrong type of mask mate,

cemetary Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 I use the FFP2 NR I get from work, I think they are brill, I have no problems with them, I change them when I think fit to do so. Be careful what masks you buy from DIY, they will sell you anything mind.
WHITTY Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 a use a dick turpin mask :emoticon-0136- :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:giggle:
paddymac Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 I bought a new mask about a month back and found it to be okay and also blocks out the fumes as well as the dust. The make is Elipse A1P3R, if you google it should be on-line and I think I only paid about £25 for it so wasn't too expensive either.
