1st of all I think most would want this to happen.

I think the first step is to JOINT. Convoy to a race , think the snrpc are going to the long distance race again , it was said at last years snrpc AGM. About going to this race together ,, so do you think this could happen for 2014 , and maybe for more races in future , the end game getting back together ? Please don't spoil it with they done this and they done that ,crap .

I think it's a start geo going to a race together , one lib 2 results , and most importantly one cost between the two .

Can't see it happening Stuart but don't think that it has all been negative since the split,in my immediate area there are plenty of people now entering national races who never did prior to the forming of the snrpc,on a negative note there are a lot of fanciers who cannot return to the SHU unfortunately. :partick-thistle-Crest:

To pull everyone back to one National, one National would have to fold, and all members would need to be a member of the same governing body IE, SHU or RPRA, I can't see that happening through negotiations, the only way this could happen is if members of one moves to the other forcing the issue.

If we did pull together what National would survive?

For me it would have to be the SNFC JMO

I hope this thread starts a constructive debate, and maybe a joint liberation would be a good start, if anything else it would make good racing and financial sense.

I dont believe that, that would be the best way forward, what we have is two seperate organisations, both these are governed by the majority of their members, they decide what each would like to do,I feel the way to test the water would be for members of each club to put it before their members at their A.G.M. and if in favour then a committee from each to meet and report back to their respective clubs there must be common ground any any differences ironed out, this ofcourse takes time, but I feel would be to the benefit of all national flyers whether middle distance or longer.....start the journey....NOW

Would love that and that would be the correct actions to take....maybe I'm just being negative after reading 3 years of stuff why it won't happen

Even if it is only cost driven at this stage, it makes sense.

This would be the main starting point. Anything else will take time, but if it was started for purely financial reasons it would be better than nothing. The BICC and BBC are managing to start talking to each other over Barcelona, so SNFC and SNRPC could do the same.

Good positive post. Let's hope it happens.

Only way for it to happen is if the any union rule was to be adopted by the SNFC,which I canny see happening.so we will have 2 ,but for the good of both clubs joint convoying would be a step in the right direction

That is obviously the main problem, but it could be ignored at this stage to make inroads towards duplication for those eligible and perhaps more important in this day and age, joint convoying for financial reasons, the inherent benefit of larger liberations would surely benefit the birds.

If not all were eligible it would not happen

I believe in freedom of choice, peaceful co-existence and friendly rivalry. There will be a golden opportunity for that in 2014 in the Ypres race, as SNFC have been asked to organise a British International to mark the centenary of the start of World War 1. Organisations south of the border will also be invited to participate so the race will need to be flown under 'Special Rules'.

The other opportunity is a joint race program. All the birds single transportation. Joint liberation. Separate race for each club. Velocity deciding clear winner. Friendly rivalry through level competition that takes nothing away from the other.

If the Ypres race is going to be an international for me that's the biggest race to aim for next year

The races you want to be aiming for are the snfc gold cup and longest race. Thats where the glory is? Dinny get it really . Surely the folk that can race in both choose to do so and the ones that cant or wont dont?

Yes in years gone by but the birdage is so low now it's less appealing imo Which is a real shame but the proof is in the pudding

Without a shadow of a doubt these are the 2 races everybody wants to win. If they say they don't, they are lying or know fk all about the doo game.

The longest race birdage has been consistant for the last 15 years.

The gold cup has dropped dramatically this because of the middle distance races that have been included in the national program.

Ypres for a race that is no more than a middle race has a really poor turnout.

I'm with Dal, Gold cup and the Longest race is were the history of the club are. When you look at the names on these trophies then you will see that there legendary, same can't be said about Ypres.
