Delboy Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Well said Jade, the other thing is Gareth Rankin said that their was a quote £2000 better than the Lanarkshire one and(good luck to it) now he is saying he was told Lanarkshire would be getting the job after the AGM .THE MAIN THING WHEN BIRDS GO TO ANY RACE IS THE NUMBER OF BIRDS TO A BASKET,GET THAT RIGHT AND THE REST IS EASY. The birds to a basket is the main thing, you are right. Canny remember Gareth saying that about any quote?
Delboy Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 I have no hidden agenda either but have yet to see proof that geraldy transporters/crates give you better racing than wicker baskets. I`m sure all the technicalities will be sorted at the next agm. If all you guys who are quick to criticise had offered to serve on the committee at the agm you could have had it sorted out this year expletive remove, of course theres no evidence to say you would have a better race from Geraldy.Does Geraldy transporters make them know the way home, lol. What a mental statement. If you read the thread you wont see the committee criticised by me, in fact I said ''hard working, unpaid committee,'' but certain officials, thats different.
geordie1234 Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Is there any doo man out there that would prefer there doos in a wicker basket before a brand new Geraldy?
Guest chad3646 Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Is there any doo man out there that would prefer there doos in a wicker basket before a brand new Geraldy? george is that the wicker baskets that is tied up with all sorts of string, hessian that is full of holes , on a couple of times iv,e had pigeons landing on the board and couldn,t stand, both feet had the hessian wrapped round them, iknow which one i would prefer

naedoos Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Is there any doo man out there that would prefer there doos in a wicker basket before a brand new Geraldy? If all our birds had ever seen was a wicker basket then I would not want them going away to a race as important as a National in a Geraldy Transporter for the first time. May be part of the reason the National decided not to use them for this season. I know there was a vote the other year and it was only for one race but the fact it was defeated at the AGM. As someone else suggested it maybe be better discussed at AGM for future racing.

Delboy Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Nobody has given a reason for preferring wicker baskets to Geraldy crates. Toullette versus ets comes to mind lol.I remember these same folk kicking up fek about ETS being introduced.
Guest stb- Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 I gather you train your birds in Geraldy crates then?? no m8 wooden plywood solid sided crates with wire top and sliding lid to put birds in , front of the crate has ply pannel that lifts up but they do go into geraldy crates when training with the fed mid weeek and at race on sat . The only thing i dont like about geraldy crates is the paper , i prefer deep shavings as i like to see my birds lay down in the shavings like they do in my crates or in the loft .

Rebus Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 The clock debate is a entirely different argument the problem some fanciers had was the advantage ets had over the conventional clock which no doubt it has However my preference for wicker baskets is that I think the birds are much happier in deep shavings which can't have in Geraldy crates which are usually dressed with cardboard and easybed which does stick to their feet. Jmo
walterboswell59 Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 the problem with the shavings is the birds crap on them then they get into the drinkers and your birds are drinking water full of shavings and other pigeons crap the drinkers must be clogged with them and water is the most important factor surely The clock debate is a entirely different argument the problem some fanciers had was the advantage ets had over the conventional clock which no doubt it has However my preference for wicker baskets is that I think the birds are much happier in deep shavings which can't have in Geraldy crates which are usually dressed with cardboard and easybed which does stick to their feet. walterboswell59 Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Would you keep your birds in a basket with nout on floor of it other than a paper for a few days at a time ? Sure as hell not many people would so why treat pigeons like this going to race homei use paper in my baskets all year m8 i prefer clean water to clean feet

Sure as hell not many people would so why treat pigeons like this going to race home Do you feed your birds by throwing feeding onto a shi.ty loft floor, well why do it with the best pigeons going to nationals,in wicker baskets? There isnt an argument here, the Lanarkshire transporters have a metal piece built in to stop shavings going in water troughs, so you can have your doos in deep shavings.
