Went back doon the loft just before coming into work and noticed a hen that was at yesterday's toss that I hadn't sent today had a bump on her side and on having a look at her she was missing half her tail no hard to work out why the toss was dodgy yesterday :emoticon-0179-headbang:

Temps mid-day here in Falkirk 6 centigrade with sun on barometer, bitterly cold east wind, Training you must be mad..

Peter you said your own pigeons were flying 2-3 hours a couple of weeks ago when the temps must have been sub zero so what is the difference in your pigeons flying for over 2 hours in minus degrees to people training from 20 mls in 6 or 7 degrees the last couple of days?

You could toss pigeons down here in the real west , fk it was snowing at 11.30 , and has rained on and off most the the day and quite pour visibility .

If I knew the answer to that one Alf I would let you know however they had not been paired up at that time and that is all I can put it down to plus they were never out till mid-day when it had warmed up a bit. I dont condone those training at this time but its not for me and basket work is totally different from free flying, I am not telling my granny how to suck eggs !.

Take it you had 100% returns.

Aldo drives the Newmains training van, we keep each other informed whenever we can.

Only interested in the returns to-day Gareth as it only hit 5c with the Hygrometer on 85% at mid-day. Still no training weather for me.

Peter i sent 17 cocks that have been at every toss with the fed and got them all but put in 8 hens for their 1st shift and have 3 missing tonight maybe my own fault as the hens were a lot heavier than the cocks but hopefully turn up in the morning???

Hope so too Alf, I have always been a bit patient at this time of the year. By the way Alf seperated them on Monday and it was only to-day their wing pattern changed and are back up to about 2 hours free flying.
