ALF Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 Went back doon the loft just before coming into work and noticed a hen that was at yesterday's toss that I hadn't sent today had a bump on her side and on having a look at her she was missing half her tail no hard to work out why the toss was dodgy yesterday
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 likewise, got a latebred cock back today with a clutch of secondaries out along a couple of tailfeathers.

ALF Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 Temps mid-day here in Falkirk 6 centigrade with sun on barometer, bitterly cold east wind, Training you must be mad..Peter you said your own pigeons were flying 2-3 hours a couple of weeks ago when the temps must have been sub zero so what is the difference in your pigeons flying for over 2 hours in minus degrees to people training from 20 mls in 6 or 7 degrees the last couple of days?

I dont condone those training at this time but its not for me and basket work is totally different from free flying, I am not telling my granny how to suck eggs !.

Still no training weather for me.Peter i sent 17 cocks that have been at every toss with the fed and got them all but put in 8 hens for their 1st shift and have 3 missing tonight maybe my own fault as the hens were a lot heavier than the cocks but hopefully turn up in the morning???

By the way Alf seperated them on Monday and it was only to-day their wing pattern changed and are back up to about 2 hours free flying.
