Guest ConsettFlyer12 Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 my youngbirds have had more than 20 times out and still not staying as long as i wanted. There getting further away from the loft day after day and they only stay up for 2 mins and they come back down. I dont let them in the shed. and i get a flag they still dont fly. I also tried letting one of my old birds out with them. and when they landed the oldbird landed with them. any advice on this?
eyesign123 Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 How many youngbirds are there in the loft and how old are they.
maverick Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 Try giving your youngbirds a light feed before you let them out

Guest H@wkBait Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 Having to flag youngbirds i suspect you may have an underlying problem respritory? Having to flag any birds to fly is a joke whos gonna wave the flag at them on race day to keep em going? understandably oldbirds can get lazy but youngsters should be flying the wings of emsels lol
Guest ConsettFlyer12 Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 Don't understand how they can only be staying up 2 minutes if they are going farther away from the lofts every dayThey go quite far away and normally fly about 2-5 mins. Im going to give them a light feed before i let them out soon
maverick Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 its annie thats the dooman no you, pmsl will not argue with you on that mate as she has a way with the young birds one shout and she has them in the loft
paullock Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 I would get them swabbed and see if there is an underlying issue with them, give yourself peace of mind.
andyyy Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 I think there might be something wrong with them My young birds would fly all day if i let them, and thats how they should be i think
walterboswell59 Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 Don't understand how they can only be staying up 2 minutes if they are going farther away from the lofts every daywas thinking the same thing tammy
ovy1255 Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 scots small loft is in a housing estate and he is new to the sport so his ranging might not be what we consider .Scot dont worry the young are ok at this stage they need a bit sun on them ----my young are just the same and are body moulting -eyes have coloured up but they will go when they are ready-dont use the flag you will only chase them onto the house roof and that habit dosent win races.I HAVE A FEW MORE YOUNG IF YOU WANT THEM--3 CHECKS AND A BLUE.-Ready now.
ovy1255 Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 one y/bird on nest with old bird=might be another ready making 5.
