Delboy Posted March 15, 2013 Author Report Posted March 15, 2013 I just hope that the best transportation with the best facilities is chosen for the best pigeons in Scotland. No personal gain or hidden agendas should come into it, just the best vehicles for Scotlands best. Lets get back to being a professional outfit that we once were.

Delboy Posted March 15, 2013 Author Report Posted March 15, 2013 nowt picked yet but they are looking at all . but remember the security side Im sure the security would be PARAMOUNT, if a certain fed was chosen to convoy the SNFC.It would get rid of the cloud thats been hanging over the SNFC for a few years now.
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 I'd like to see the club go with the Catterall spin off offer. I'd rather have our birds in one of them than a Geraldy any day. We are constantly told Geraldys are the best without being told why.To me they are no different when in motion to the traditonal transporter except from perhaps the crates being less comfortable and less 'durable' as far as I'm concerned. I suppose the main difference is in the ventilation systems when the wagon is stationary?? I won't say much more as I've never had birds in a Geraldy but a question to those members who have-Do you notice a difference in the condition of your birds on return compared to traditional tranporters??
JADE Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Wouldnt have a problem going with a professional transport company no matter where from if the cost is reasonable. Got to say I am not keen on metal or plastic crates. Birds always look much more comfortable in wicker baskets on shavings. jmo

Ive had my birds in both for several years.Everything is to do with how many birds go in a basket/crate.With the Snfc, they have fewer birds in the basket so I would say it doesnt make a great difference. However,Geraldy unquestionably has a better watering system for the birds and this is imperative at long distance races. I am not part of any fed so I have an unbias opinion, GERALDY 100% for me.

Ive heard all this about shavings etc and now I think what a load of c..p.How many of us have our pigeons lie about on shavings in the loft. They stand/balance on perches all night. This must be uncomfortable for them, lol. Derek can I ask you what kind of bottoming gets used by the Almond valley Geraldy that you race with? Corrugated cardboard Jim.
