was hoping to see egg-shells on the floor this morning , but no signs ? . have the old 1950,s style deep nest bowls in the race loft ,and as i was cleaning ,was sure i could hear some chirping ,found a pair of chicks under a tight sitting yearling cock. :animatedpigeons:

same for me today egg shells all over the floors, only had one clear egg so far.

Had one clear and one broke, two different nests both laid on the same day so moved one to let the other go down again as the cock is my best racer.

First ones where this morning also.

Anyone thing the cold snap coming will have any effect on newly hatched youngsters?

In my opinion no. It will only have affect if the parents are poor.

I'be had 3 cocks not fill eggs this year, but they're old men, 02, 03 and 04 :emoticon-0138-thinking: currently been foster parents to some yb's out of the race loft.

I will try them a young hen cheers :)

I have tried the tail thing but no luck :(

the 3 cocks are class birds and a fancier told me that they may not be filling because they have been pumped for over the years :emoticon-0138-thinking:

ouch Gra , thats a hard one to take .any ideas why ??

7 from 30 eggs mostly yearlings that only hatched one, and might be due to weather as my lofts have open fronts due to my health,
