Who ended up buying birds, and what did you buy?

Myself bought a cracking wee Jan Aarden hen from Tumley lofts, even got a bargain thanks to rembrant2coohttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif I thought Tumley lofts had some of the best birds for sale, which birds were you impressed with, or disappointed with?

I boiught a Jan Theelen Mealy Ck off a guy that i bought from at the Lanark SHU Show in December (i broke that doo dry in 10 days) and 2 from the Louella stand ( something i never do) but seen this family called Van Den Heuvel that i've never came across before and 3 Ck's stood out to me, so i picked 2 of them and got a wee discount so am up the road with 3 new stock Ck's.

Will need to do some homework on the V/D Heuvel strain now. lol

I had a couple of pints as you do. Sat in an auction thought i was bidding on a schoorise hen. managed to get it for 50 which ws good as the auctioneer was withdrawing a few. I then realised i had bought a cock and it was a Roger Ghys which i had never heard of. Lovely bird and i am very happy with him in fact i also bought a hen to go to him from the same auction. Lesson learned don't drink to much in auctions.

I made my mind up when I went to only get what was on my shopping list. No racing pigeons. Ended up with a pair of silver starlings a fancy breed! as well as the tumblers I had arranged to collect. Spent all yesterday afternoon adapting my loft for the new additions. When you think about it, I stuck to my promise, I didn't buy any racers haha!

I bought a pair then the lad i was sat with also bought some he hadn't heard of them either. So it must have looked as though we knew what we were doing. The owner was sat near us and after we bought them he assured us he had spent good money on them and they had bred winners. They went for a bit more in the second sale i noticed so fingers crossed and i will see what they do. I have found out they are sprinters so shuld suit me fine.

I attended both of Darren Norris entire clearance and purchased two Gevaerts to add to our Gevaerts, I purchased Ready Mix in sale one a winner 5x1st and 4 x 2nd club, 1st fed, 2x2nd fed and another 8 fed cards only raced as a yb and yearling and True Pied in sale 2 winner of 1st Club and Fed. She was only raced as a youngbird.I originally was going for Ready Mix, but got given orders to have a look at True pied also by my father who didn't attend Blackpool and if she fitted requirements bring her home. The auctioneer on both sales made comments on my red hat sat at the back of the room which was quiet embarrassing
