I seen a sparrow hawk this morning when i woke up to check on my birds (very cold) it was over the main road going along the shrubs and trees, i seen some white doves/ fantails there too, it didnt bother them, i hope the hawk goes for the racing season and so i can let my birds out. Ive never seen a perigrine around here although i do remember this old mans cross bred doves high in the sky and something on there tail that was in June time, any ideas what this could be etc etc thanks

It could have been the peregrine chasing but could also be a Gos hawk, they will chase in the air but can't keep speed up for long, I'm afraid the hawks are everywhere now just hope you stay lucky. ATB

My hens were out two hours twice they landed on the

house roof due to north wind.Only to take off again as a very

dark brown hawk came over the roof after them.

Bloody menace!

Later on about 3.30 was down the sawmill saw

the same dark bird worry the snipes?

Never seen one so dark.It looked thin comp to

usual ones we see.

Don't like to say too soon but in my area there seems to be less sparrowhawks than in previous years at the moment.

SNAP..Was discussing with my mate today about the Peterhead "Urban Peregrines" have'nt been seen for a few weeks now...touch wood!

you see the staple diet for the craigneuk neds is buckfast 20 20 and starlings and they aint going to let no bird take away their starlings OR THEIR DOOZ :animatedpigeons:
