greenlands Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Having thoughts again about buying an ETS the I read this on their website. So if I'm the only one in the club the club doesn't get a club system ?? "Benzing Clubsystem and GPS Timer - FREE Benzing will supply free of charge the LCD Clubsystem, the electronic combined version of the master timer and ringer plus a GPS satellite antenna to any registered pigeon club, provided five or more of its members purchase a Benzing G2 or M1 electronic pigeon timing system. The clubsystem is universal and compatible with all manufactured ETS clocks."

Guest pigeongirl Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 i believe all ets systems must be as easy as each other but i do love my bricon system. i am now club secretary and anything goes wrong i and others in the town just give the rep mark palmer a call and he talks us through what to do and sorts it there and then.
frank-123 Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 If I had the choice again it would be tauris unikon not a very good company

frank-123 Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Why you think that Frank??My pad went faulty missed a bird cost Me 125 quid to get a new one the old one was not repairable . If an internal battery goes belly up 80 quid. If your pad is connected but your cable has a cut it won't tell you it is faulty always scan an old ring to check it is working properly. The price of rings should insure the equipment is cheaper. All in had some bad experience with unikon although the rep in Scotland dougie bald is very helpful
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Unikon loan your club master Was under the impression that the this club master is donated free of charge and is the property of each club, just recently cost my own club £100.00 for a new battery as it went faulty, if it was loaned as you say then surely the repair would have been done free of charge. Sky - give you your box and dish for free, you have to pay for the repairs. Virgin - own the cable boxs in each house, subsequently they have to repair it free of charge.
JohnQuinn Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Am going back to Rubber rings, not for finance or convenience but for the personal touch that familiarises me with each bird in the loft. Since starting with the ETS clock i find i canny even remember ring numbers or the breeding of my birds and i don't like that situation one bit. This season's Yb's i know already and we've only had 3 races, on a Friday night i like to hand my birds over in numerical order (though i failed miserably last Friday night) since using ETS this has not been possible as i didnae learn their ring numbers. This Yb season i have to check every bird as it arrives to check its number and record its position to the loft. By the end of the season i will know them all "personally" and this in turn will allow me to make my pairings up for next season without reference to my breeding or racing records. Just like the "GOOD OLD DAYS".
Guest The Newbie Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Our club are all on Benzing never had any problems easy to use.

I understand were your coming from John but couldnt go back to writing 50 ring numbers on a Friday night then having to write another sheet out for the LSC. Another great benefit for me getting ETS was the records of the arrival of birds on a Saturday.

Delboy Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Does other ETS have the same battery charge etc as Unikon. When I first got my Unikon I was under the impression that a new battery would cost £20 .Now that everyones got them the price has quadrupled !!!!!!!!

Club mate with unikon has to worry about a charge of £100.00 for the battery with his base station and on top of that the cost of a new battery for the pocket clock when the time arrives, unsure of the time scale for Unikon.

Why £100??? It was £75 last month.I think the fanciers should be using the cheapest system made available to them.I know I will be definately thinking about it over the winter.
