Seems my 2yr old mealy pied hen that was entered into the Clermont race has ended up sitting on the outside tables and has now be confined in a box.Nothing out of the ordinary there??? Apart from the same bird was rescued from the same hotel as a young bird?????? They must have some memory???? Will have to go get it tomorrow bloody useless little bugger!!!!

greenlands Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Must admit Steve,they do make you think sometimes,looked down the garden a couple of days ago and there was a red ch.hen trying to get into the old bird loft,lost her at a stinker of a race from Cheltenham/Tewkesbury area in the middle of May,she's had a rough shift but flew well for me as a young bird and yearling,she'll get another chance.

Luckily the Dutch fancier liked the look of my bird

It was a hen that was well in from Laferte Bernard one year and the next gold cup ended up in Holland I went thru the motions but the finder stopped answering calls and I gave up

JohnQuinn Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Had a Yb in a couple of weeks back for 1 night, the owner collected it, started training again and it was coming well from some stiff tosses. First race on Saturday and it was at my loft long before loads of fanciers had seen a doo.
maverick Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 2 years ago i got a blue grizzle yearling in a fife bird contacted owner and as i was going to visit sister in fife i took bird and handed it to the guy when i got home that night the bird was sitting on trap looking to get in.another one i got a blue pied hen reported as a youngbird in Alnwick as the guy was a new start in pigeons i let him keep her 2 years later this hen turned up back at my loft
