Delboy Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Both years going west you lost a higher percentage.
andy Burgess Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 what is your understanding then John .??
JohnQuinn Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 Both years going west you lost a higher percentage. Aye and the strangest thing about it was i lost my best East Route birds when going West Route. All bar one anyway.
jonl6280 Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Maybe different birds like different terrain
JohnQuinn Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 what is your understanding then John .?? Not so much an understanding Andy, just seems that bit harder on the west route, and as you see the returns on the West route are worse, but not significantly so that it holds any argument as to which is BEST route. jmo
Guest KING BILLY Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Both years going west you lost a higher percentage.percentage dosent work her good years breeding or bad years breeding difrent doos how many sent east winds west winds or south winds or north

JohnQuinn Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 percentage dosent work her good years breeding or bad years breeding difrent doos how many sent east winds west winds or south winds or north I figured taking 8 races from each year would give a good perception of the difference and take in most eventualities re, weather conditions, hold overs etc etc
ALF Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 i think if my returns were the same as quoted ,i would have "thrown the towel in" by year 3 ANDY I THINK JOHNS FIGURES ARE WHAT HE HAS LOST 1ST SENT 2ND MATE
b.massey Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 When u say 1/20 u mean lost 1 and 19 home??
Delboy Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Not so much an understanding Andy, just seems that bit harder on the west route, and as you see the returns on the West route are worse, but not significantly so that it holds any argument as to which is BEST route. jmo Very accurate assumption John, no great difference but east shades it, just.
JohnQuinn Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 When u say 1/20 u mean lost 1 and 19 home?? Aye that's it Brian, first number are those lost, second is number sent to each race.
jonl6280 Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 We stay in the west, so race from the west . If any west section member want to win a national then you must race west
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 The conditions the pigeons have had to deal with this year has been horrendous, not just Lanarkshire doos but all organizations. Let's hope kind conditions prevails the rest of the season, then we will get a better reflection on east vs west.
andy Burgess Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 ANDY I THINK JOHNS FIGURES ARE WHAT HE HAS LOST 1ST SENT 2ND MATE will wait on John,s reply ALF , i read it diffrent
JohnQuinn Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 i think if my returns were the same as quoted ,i would have "thrown the towel in" by year 3 Ye surely never thought i was losing the big number Andy, cos if that was the case i would have chucked it long before year 3
b.massey Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 I prefer west route if honest! I just hate yb's going into Durham and I feel the amount of huge allotments in Newcastle area stops returns of yb as they see all the birds here and hang around! We fly from eastern side Scotland and if I was a west fancier I would mini have another view with the route your birds go to the ones mines would
andy Burgess Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Aye that's it Brian, first number are those lost, second is number sent to each race. will wait on John,s reply ALF , i read it diffrent now its clearer

Yes I said that mate. I would have a different view if I flew from west side
dal2 Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 How many stinkers in that line up John?Your last race 6/10 is that the Cheltenham inland nat?Hee haw wrang wae that flyin in my book cos I am quite sure if I looked it would be just as bad/good from the east for the last five years?Of course MY opinion on racing into the west is not valid cos we are south of the Moffat hills but think that them returns are quite acceptable in most lofts, well done,. Wer you trying to compete from the majority of races or setting birds up for the Nat?Do you fly yearlings right to the coast or stop them at a certain distance? Sorry for the questions but I love stats :emoticon-0136-giggle:
